In 1974 the F-15 Eagle went into service as the U.S. Air Force's most modern fighter aircraft. Built by Mc Donnell-Douglas, it will be the basic back-bone of the U.S. air defence into the Nineties. The F-15 E Strike Eagle is in service since 1978.
