Untraceable but still in the modellers hearts, the model kit CRUSADER III is presented in the same box and with the original sprues of the FIRST VERSION RELEASED IN 1976. The hologram includes the sequence number assigned to each box as a guarantee of limited edition. Coiceived at the outbreak of World War Two, the Cruseder was one of the main British "Cruiser" tanks and reached production of no less that 5.000 units. Fitted with Cristie suspensions and large roadwheels the Cruseder performed remarkable cross-country capabilities and was armed with a 6 pdr. gun replacing the less powerful 2 pdr. gun of the previous verions. The Crusader played a leading role in the North African Campaign and took part to the battle of El Alamein, where 300 tanks fought with good avail. Later on, it was operational in the European theatre as a command, recovery and AA tanks as well as an artillery tractor, variants which were based on this classic tank basic hull. Towards the later Seventies the need of increate fire power of U.S. self-propelled guns led to the development of an 203 mm gun with extended barrel. The M-110 A2 has considerable improvements compared to its predecessors M-107 and M-110 A1 and is used by the U.S. Army and many NATO countries. The 203 mm gun has a firing range of more than 36 km and can be used with conventional grenades as well as nuclear ammunition. M-110’s were widely used by Israel during the Lebanon crisis in the Eighties. During the Gulf war the allies used M-110’s too. M47 Patton This second version of the Patton series was developed upon request of the US Forces engaged in the Korean War. It went into production with American Locomotive Corporation in 1950 and saw its first action in korea. Compared to the M-46 and older predecessor, the M-47 showed some important improvements, such as a stabilizing unit for the weapons and encreased firing capacity.Although it had come out a little to play a decisive part on the Korean War theatre, this vehicle proved so versatile that the US soon furnished all NATO armies with it, among them those of the German Federal Republic, Italy, France and others.
