IV medium tank served as the basis for many vehicles, including tank destroyers. At the end of 1944, a version of the 75-mm PaK 42 L/70 gun was prepared for this basis. The new variant of the vehicle was designated the JagdPzIV/70. From August 1944 through March 1945, the Nibelungenwerke company produced 278 vehicles of this type. Unlike most other tank destroyers of its tier, the Jagdpanzer IV is not optimized for sniping at long distances. Its guns simply do not have the penetration to do so. What it does have is a ferocious rate-of-fire with its top guns, excellent mobility, and a low and stealthy profile. As an added bonus, it also has fairly decent frontal armour for its tier. T17E2 STAGHOUND AA This version of the Staghound armoured car was built to offer anti-craft defence to the advanced reconnaissance unit and the allies refuelling convoys. The vehicle, equipped with a slightly armoured single-seat tower, armed with two calibre 12.7 mm Browining machine guns, was based on the hull of the Staghound armoured car, with the exterior aspect slightly modified. The Tiger’s development was started in 1937 by the company, Henschel. Mass production began in 1942 with a total of 1347 vehicles being manufactured over its production run. The initial model used suspension similar to that of the Panther. The hull extended over the tracks to accommodate the wide-ringed turret which could mount the infamous 8,8cm Kw.K 36 L/56. The Tiger first saw combat in the fighting for Leningrad and soon found itself featured in the majority of German armoured engagements. Even though production was discontinued in the summer of 1944, the Tiger I continued to see action until the end of the war. It was the first German heavy tank in WWII and soon proved itself to be extremely formidable against Allied and Soviet units which mostly consisted of Sherman tanks and T-34s at the time.
