Dragon has already produced several 1/35 scale 1-ton Sd.Kfz.10 halftracks in plastic and these have been gladly received by modelers. This new kit from Dragon is the most potent version yet, thanks to the inclusion of the 5cm cannon. Indeed, this kit is an excellent hybrid that mates the delightful Sd.Kfz.10 halftrack with Dragon’s legendary 5cm PaK 38 anti-tank gun. The entire gun mount is completely new to suit this vehicle, plus the halftrack interior has been modified accordingly. The folded hoops for the roof are also brand new. The kit includes three armor elements for the hood, grill and windshield to perfectly recreate original vehicles. "Die Erza"hlungdes Schwarzen Ritters" is a widely acclaimed comic book series and considered the best work of renowned comic artist Motofumi Kobayashi. The story is set in the Eastern Front in the Fall of 1943 and portrays the main character Oblt.Ernst von Bauer and his force Wehrmacht 8th Tank Company which is called "Black Knight". In the winter of 1943, the Black Knight lost their five "Panzerkampfwagen IV" during the battle against the Soviet force's T34s but luckily they found six "Panther As" and fought back against the Soviet force. These six Panther As displayed the courage and power of the Black Knight. This Panther A is a 1/35 scale plastic model kit. The forms are accurately detailed. The gun barrel and side skirt are made of metal parts. Photo etched parts are provided for some small details. The Black Knight's emblems can be reproduced by decals. Dragon has created a “killer kit” with a 1/35 scale version of this important tank destroyer! It’s based on the company’s Panzer IV Smart Kit family, but it boasts a great many new parts. As a Smart Kit, there’s a one-piece lower hull, convenient Magic Tracks and on-vehicle tools featuring crisp detail. The fighting compartment is made by slide mold so that no multipart assembling is necessary. The schurzen side screens follow the same design of those used on the Panzer IV J Late Production kit (Item No.6575), these having already attracted praise from modelers. Of special interest, too, is the MP44 Vorsatz “P”. This mounted weapon with a curved barrel could be used to protect blind-spots not covered by the mounted MG42 machine gun. As Dragon has never produced a kit of this halftrack family before, the body and chassis are brand new. This allowed the design team to really go to town and produce the ultimate detail in this kit, all the while utilizing high-quality engineering for accurate parts. It’s fully detailed, including internal components like the engine and gearbox. Of course, it also makes use of Dragon’s world-famous 2cm FlaK38 kit. Worthy of special mention is the use of slide molds on the front hood to permit the louvers on the hood sides to be fully open. This stunning level of detail, combined with upgraded road wheels and Magic Tracks has resulted in a spectacular halftrack kit.
