This little German 4x4 armored car was used for reconnaissance purposes. Early in WWII, the Sd.Kz.221 family performed well enough as reconnaissance vehicles for panzer divisions, although their off-road capability let them down. Now Dragon is offering another vehicle in the family – the Sd.Kfz.223, which was basically a modified Sd.Kfz.221 with a long-range radio set. Its function is belied by the prominent frame antenna that was mounted above the hull. This radio allowed it to stay in touch with roving reconnaissance vehicles on the battlefield. A total of 550 Sd.Kfz.223 vehicles were made between 1935 and 1944. As on the Sd.Kfz.221, a machine gun was installed in the small turret. The new Sd.Kfz.223 kit features new parts to create this specific variant. For example, the upper hull is a completely new item. The turret and rectangular antenna are obviously new too. The kit makes use of Dragon’s highest engineering expertise, meaning the armored radio car is well designed and easily assembled despite its diminutive size in this scale. The mesh that covers the turret is supplied as a photo-etched part so that it remains true to scale. Adding to its appeal is a set of jerry cans that can be stowed on the nose of the vehicle to give it longer range when performing recces. This little reconnaissance vehicle is the perfect vehicle to stay in touch with the Sd.Kfz.222s that modelers may already have in their reconnaissance forces! Per saperne di più

Intricate Flakpanzer V newly designed New twin 3.7cm FlaK 43 cannons can be adjusted to different positions One-piece plastic gun barrels are well detailed Slide-molded upper hull w/full detail Armored sife skirts reproduced Detailed desidned for rear plate and stowage boxes Engine deck w/delicate details Intricate road wheels One-piece DS tracks Germany's Luftwaffe was numerically outnumbered as WWII progressed, with the Fatherland and tactical units constantly being bombed and strafed by enemy aircraft. This called for more effective antiaircraft systems than Germany hitherto possessed, which initially were often poorly protected halftracks. New self-propelled AA types were put into service, including the Flakpanzer IV. A new type was also planned – the Flakpanzer V "Coelian" from Rheinmetall - though it was never put into production due to the war's end and the lack of enough chassis for conversion. The Coelian featured a special armored turret that would protect the crew inside the vehicle. It used a standard Panther tank chassis upon which were mounted twin 3.7cm FlaK 43 cannons. Dragon is now offering a fine 1/72 scale model kits of this interesting-looking German AA vehicle. It features the dual antiaircraft guns mounted based on a Panther chassis. The fully enclosed turret is a brand new molding, carefully replicating the prototypical structure and the twin-barrel cannons mounted inside. The turret and gun system is made true to scale. While this system never had the requisite time to get off the drawing board, Dragon's engineers are proud to bring this exciting model kits to modelers! Per saperne di più

The newest 1/72 Panzer IV kit from Dragon is an Ausf.H type. Production of the Ausf.H variant commenced in April 1943, and improvements included an 80mm-thick glacis plate and a layer of Zimmerit paste to prevent the adhesion of anti-tank mines. Side skirts were also added to the hull and turret to enhance the vehicle’s protection. With all the new armor, the Panzer IV’s weight increased to 25 tonnes. This 1/72 scale plastic kit is a fantastic new offering, with the majority of its components being newly tooled parts. Examples include the complete turret, upper hull, fenders and Schurzen side skirts on the hull and turret. Utilizing research data and engineering experience with the larger 1/35 equivalent kit, the details on this Panzer IV are very accurately portrayed. The box supplies a generous selection of Cartograf decals that cover panzer divisions operating in locations such as the Eastern Front (e.g. Poland, Ukraine) and Normandy. These markings stand out, and will look impressive on a suitable diorama piece. Dragon has already released Pz.Kpfw.IV F, F2 and G kits, so the addition of the very popular Ausf.H comes as a welcome addition for modelers everywhere. In fact, when lined up alongside each other, collectors will be able to trace the evolution of the important Panzer IV tank. Per saperne di più

  7. Sd.Kfz.260

Features: Newly tooled Sd.Kfz.260 delicately produced Intricate external stowage included Tow hook molded on both front and rear of the vehicle Finely molded hull w/detail produced in one-piece Chassis presented in full details Delicate wheels w/authentic tire tread pattern Turret shields assembled in separate parts Spare wheels included Finely molded jerry can included Dragon has just extended its 1/72 scale range of model Leichter Panzerspa"hwagen light reconnaissance vehicles. The new family member is the Sd.Kfz.260. Like other types such as the Sd.Kfz.222 and Sd.Kfz.223, this particular variant was based on an Auto-Union 801 chassis and it was powered by a Horch 8-cylinder engine. The Sd.Kfz.260 was designed specifically as an armored, but unarmed, radio communication vehicle. Some 493 examples were produced from 1940 till 1943. Used by signals units, they provided mobility and some degree of protection. A standard crew comprised four soldiers, and the little vehicle was capable of reaching speeds of 85km/h and it had a range of 310km. The 3,815kg Sd.Kfz.260 was fitted with an Fu.7 medium-range radio set connected to a rod antenna. The Sd.Kfz.260 was eventually replaced in service by halftrack radio vehicles. Dragon’s 1/72 scale model is newly tooled. While it’s based on the previously released Sd.Kfz.222, it has brand new parts such as its entire upper hull. Because some details are different to existing Sd.Kfz.222/223 kits, Dragon created a completely new one-piece slide-molded upper hull. The machine gun turret has also been replaced - the framework over the hull-top opening is made of plastic, this being much easier to work with than photo-etched parts. There is also a brand new storage box, jack and reworked fenders. The rod antenna is also finely produced. After painting in appropriate camouflage colors, modelers can apply Cartograf high-quality decals to finish off their new Sd.Kfz.260! Per saperne di più

The latest 1/72 plastic model is the Panzer III Ausf.M. This tank version succeeded the Ausf.L, and it shared the same 5cm KwK39 L/60 main gun. Among its modifications was a deep-wading muffler with a series of associated hatch seals that allowed fording of water obstacles up to a depth of 1.3m. This performance represented a significant fording improvement over earlier Panzer IIIs. The hull-mounted smoke generators were also replaced with three 90mm NbK dischargers mounted either side of the turret. A total of 250 new Ausf.M tanks were produced from October 1942 to February 1943. Inside the box bearing the Dragon logo lie all the necessary ingredients to create a spectacular Panzer III M with its deep-wading exhaust system. Benefiting from the precision achieved with the larger 1/35 scale version of the Panzer III M, the kit’s extremely well engineered and the parts separation is cleverly handled by the engineering team. In addition to the obviously new exhaust and muffler system, there are DS tracks and a set of photo-etched parts. Cartograf has produced an excellent set of slide decals with different tactical markings so that modelers can select an appropriate unit. This stunning 1/72 plastic kit offers a perfect balance of accuracy and ease of assembly - the perfect project for modelers to wade into! Per saperne di più
