Features: - Authentic Panther Ausf.D newly produced - On-vehicle tools reproduced w/clasps - Turret sides molded w/details including ports - Engine deck grills molded w/intricate details - One-piece slide-molded lower hull - Bolts and rivets delicately represented on hull bottom - Finely detailed front headlights - Finely detailed exhaust pipes, jack and rear stowage boxes molded on hull rear - One-piece side armor skirts - Easy-to-assemble idlers and sprocket wheels look authentic - One-piece DS tracks While it’s the impressive Tiger I tank that usually attracts the most attention, it was the Panther that in the long run was a more important tank to Germany during WWII. This approximately 45-tonne medium tank represented a good balance of well-sloped armor protection, lethal firepower and able cross-country mobility, the design being inspired by the highly successful Russian T-34. Beginning in December 1942, a total of 842 Ausf.D examples were manufactured through to September 1943, at which time it was superceded by the improved Ausf.A. Its combat debut occurred during Operation Zitadelle in the titanic Battle of Kursk on the Eastern Front, and the Sd.Kfz.171 Panther fought bravely until the dying days of the Third Reich. Its 7.5cm KwK 42 L/70 cannon took a heavy toll on enemy armored vehicles whenever and wherever they were encountered. The Ausf.D is easily identified by the letterbox hatch opening for the glacis machine gun, pistol ports on the turret sides and a drum cupola. Dragon has a brand new 1/72 scale kit of the Panther Ausf.D Early Production, and modelers are certainly in for a treat with it! The plastic kit is an almost completely new tooling. In fact, the only item carried over from the Ausf.G released recently is the DS tracks! The upper hull is made as a single piece thanks to the clever use of slide molds. The lower hull tub has been formed the same way, thus ensuring a stable and accurate foundation for the rest of the build. All the appropriate characteristics of an Ausf.D variant are present. This Panther is full of delightful details…enough to have 1/72 scale model-makers purring with pleasure. Per saperne di più
  3. Challenger 2 w/Bar Armor
    16,00 €

Challenger 2 w/Bar Armor. The Challenger 2 is a very capable tank and is one of the most heavily protected in the world with its second-generation Chobham armor. The 62.5-tonne tank entered British Army service in 1998 and it has since seen operational use in Kosovo and combat in Iraq since 2003. In places like Iraq, one of the gravest threats is from hollow-charge RPGs, and a special kit was developed to help mitigate this threat. This involves a Dorchester Armour Level 2 applique' armor kit supplemented by a “cage” of bar armor fitted around the more vulnerable rear areas of the hull and turret. This system is being successfully used on Challenger 2 tanks in Iraq at the present time. Features: -Bar Armor finely reproduced with photo-etched parts -Newly tooled turret side blocks on both sides -One-piece slide-molded lower hull w/fine detail -Slide molds reproduce delicate details on upper hull -Side-skirt armor with correct detail -DS tracks -Cartograf decals Per saperne di più

However, with the advent of more heavily armored and up-gunned enemy tanks, the role of the Panzer III became secondary to that of the Panzer IV and production finally ceased in 1943. One of the later models to be produced was the Panzer III Ausf.L, which featured a longer and more powerful 5cm KwK 39 L/60 main gun. It also boasted thicker armor, with an additional 20mm-thick layer on the turret and hull front. A total of 653 Ausf.L tanks were produced in 1942 by German factories. This new kit specifically offers modelers the chance to build a Late-Production variant of the Panzer III Ausf.L. It includes new toolings, like the long-barreled cannon. It also draws upon the technical and technological pedigree of the larger 1/35 Smart Kit, including full detail and convenient assembly. The upper hull is slide molded as a single piece, as is the accurate lower hull, both elements containing crisp detail. The turret is made from a multi-directional slide mold, and hatches can be shown open or closed depending on the builder’s preference. Where appropriate, photo-etched pieces such as mesh for the deflector grill are also offered. Per saperne di più

American infantry were equipped with the famous bazooka, but something extra was still needed for light forces to help them counter the enemy armor threat. One solution was the M20 recoilless rifle, which was developed by the Ordnance Development Small Arms Division from 1944 onwards. The key feature of a recoilless rifle is that the perforated shell casing and rear-vented breech greatly reduce the level of recoil. Production of the M20 commenced in March 1945, meaning only limited numbers saw service in the closing days of WWII. Instead, the 75mm M20 recoilless rifle saw considerable use in the Korean War, but despite being designed as an anti-armor weapon it proved inadequate when engaging the T-34. Nevertheless, the M20 was effectively used against lightly armored vehicles, soft-skin vehicles and field fortifications. Eventually, recoilless rifles like the M20 were phased out in the 1960s-70s in favor of wire-guided missile systems. Dragon’s newest 1/6 scale weapon kit is an M20 recoilless rifle. The original 2.08m-long weapon has been perfectly scaled down, and the model is replete with fine detail. The kit fits together accurately owing to careful engineering by Dragon’s designers. The weapon can be elevated and traversed on its M1917A1 tripod, which allows modelers to pose the weapon in any position or direction they wish. Although the gun could be fitted on a jeep, Dragon has depicted the model in its portable light infantry role. The new M20 recoilless rifle makes a perfect companion to other 1/6 scale American support weapons that have already been released in this popular series, models like the Bazooka, M2 .50-cal machine gun, M1919 machine gun and 60mm mortar. The latest item is a Type 4 “Ke-Nu” light tank. It isn’t as well known as the Type 95 “Ha-Go” or Type 97 “Chi-Ha”, although in actual fact it was a hybrid formed from these two tank designs. When operations in Manchuria and Russia revealed that the performance of the low-velocity 57mm anti-tank gun of the Type 97 was inadequate, it was replaced with a 45mm gun to create the Shinhoto Type 97. Some of the original and now obsolete turrets mounting the 57mm gun were then retrofitted onto the Type 95 Ha-Go. The resulting hybrid was known as the Type 4 Ke-Nu, and just 100 vehicles were created in 1944. As such, the Type 4 came too late to have any significant impact on the war, and most vehicles were retained to protect the Japanese homeland from the expected Allied invasion. Dragon has previously released both the Japanese Type 95 and Type 97 tanks as 1/72 scale plastic kits, but here the designers have done much more than simply plonk an old Chi-Ha turret onto an original Ha-Go chassis. In fact, this kit required a completely new upper hull to accommodate the larger turret ring of the Type 97 turret. Details on this model are exquisite. Indeed, although small in stature, this model of a rare Japanese tank is extremely well refined, and it would make a unique contribution to any Japanese WWII model tank collection. Per saperne di più

Now Dragon has doubled the number of Panzer IIs available with a second variant release! This time it’s a Panzer II Ausf.C, a type produced by Germany from June 1938 through till April 1940. It was operated by a crew of three, and the Ausf.C was the most common variant of the Panzer II family. In the turret were a 20mm KwK.30 cannon and a 7.92mm MG34 machine gun. Panzer II Ausf.C tanks were in the forefront of the German invasion of France in 1940, while a number were also dispatched to North Africa to fight with the legendary Deutsches Afrika Korps (DAK). Even though the original tank was diminutive in size, this kit built to 1/6 scale has an awesome presence and it’s one of Dragon’s biggest ever models. Elements are accurately represented, and building in this scale presents a whole new experience for model-makers. Take the track links, for example. Owners can assemble the individual track links one by one, just like on the original tank. Details are accurately represented, and there are numerous new components such as the cupola, turret, glacis plate and engine deck. The turret rotates, the gun elevates and depresses, plus the commander’s hatch can open, just perfect for fitting in a Dragon Action Figure. Collectors will certainly want to clear space to park this scintillating Panzer II Ausf.C! Per saperne di più

British PIAT & Enfield No.4 Mk.I Rifle. Features - Intricate M1917 .30 cal browning machine gun - Delicate water cooling bottle for M1917 - Tripod can be folded up as on the original - The gun can rotate to different positions - .30 Calibre ammunition box can be assembled open/closed - M1917 can be elevated and lowered as per the original mechanism - Bolt mechanism can be pulled up/down One of the main machine guns used by the USA during WWII and beyond was the M1917A1 Browning machine gun. The M1917A1 was introduced in 1936 with a strengthened bottom plate in the receiver, plus a few other detail changes. This heavy weapon, commonly referred to as a .30-cal MG, was a belt-fed and water-cooled machine gun. With a rate of fire of up to 600 rounds per minute, it was a highly successful design that was also mounted on vehicles and aircraft. It served throughout WWII, the Korean War, and some examples even found use in the Vietnam War before the M60 gained widespread currency. Because of its unwieldy bulk and weight (14.8kg for the gun body, 3.3kg of water, and 24kg for the tripod), the M1917 .30-cal MG was typically used for fixed defense or as a battalion-level or above support weapon. Its standard crew was four men – the gunner, assistant and two others to help carry ammo and water. The newest 1/6 scale kit to join Dragon’s weapon collection is an exact replica of this famous M1917A1 machine gun. It is highly detailed, and the parts separation mimics that of the original weapon. The kit comes with all the necessary and desirable accessories such as the M1917 tripod, a heavy steel mount that featured integral traverse and elevation mechanisms. The tripod has been accurately rendered in this large-scale kit, and it can be traversed and elevated to any position the modeler chooses. There is also a 250-round fabric ammunition belt with its associated ammo can. Finally, the kit also includes the condenser tank that supplied the tubular cooling jacket with water. This is a very well-crafted kit of a most significant weapon, and modelers will be able to add it to a vignette, or simply display it as a standalone exhibit. Per saperne di più
