7,5cm PaK 97/38. Features: - Hollow gun muzzle - Gun can elevate to any angle - Gun cradle w/hand wheels - Gun shield true to scale - Bottom armored flap of gun shield is movable - Finely detailed wheels - Movable gun recoils like the real one - Movable gun breech can be displayed open/closed - Movable gun trails can be positioned in combat or travel modes Despite the output of Germany’s massive armaments industry, the thirst for more weapons throughout WWII proved insatiable. One solution was to employ captured weapons, and this is exactly what the Wehrmacht did with the French Canon de 75 mode`le 1897 field gun. Hundreds of these cannons manufactured by Schneider were captured during the Polish and French campaigns in 1939-40, and were subsequently pressed into German service as howitzers. However, faced with well-armored Soviet tanks in 1941, there was a desperate need for more powerful antitank weapons. Until more 7.5cm PaK 40 cannons could be produced, an expedient solution was to place gun barrels from the French Canon de 75 mode`le 1897 onto the carriage of a PaK 38. Fitted with a muzzle brake, the resulting weapon was called the 7.5cm PaK 97/38. This hybrid weapon could be used in the antitank role because it primarily fired HEAT rounds, which didn’t rely on velocity. A total of 3700+ PaK 97/38 cannons were produced in 1942-43, and many soldiered on until late in the war. Dragon has produced a 1/6 scale kit of this important German antitank weapon. Utilizing the split-trail gun carriage and double-layered gun shield from the previously issued 1/6 scale PaK 38 5cm antitank gun, these subassemblies have been matched with a brand new barrel and muzzle brake. The round-shaped breech is also notable for being a new tooling. Modelers are able to display the gun in either towed or firing mode. Furthermore, the gun can traverse, elevate and depress just like the original. This new kit is ready to take on any type of enemy armor, and it constitutes an instant diorama if suitable figures are added. Per saperne di più

However, as the war progressed, this domination was reversed. The need for antiaircraft weapons became pressing, although the primary light AA gun - the 2cm FlaK 38 (Fliegerabwehrkanone 38) - was inadequate towards the war’s end. The FlaK 38 was an improved version of the FlaK 30, with a much-improved theoretical rate of fire of 420-480 rounds per minute, although in practice it was half of this due to the 20-round box magazines that fed it. Mauser’s 2cm FlaK 38 was adopted gun in March 1940, and more than 17,000 FlaK 30 and FlaK 38 examples were to see widespread service in WWII. The weapon had a muzzle velocity of 900m/s and its maximum effective range was 2,200m. The gun was usually hauled around on a two-wheeled Sd.Ah. 51 trailer. A fine 2cm FlaK 38 antiaircraft gun is the latest arrival in Dragon’s expanding range of 1/6 scale kit sets. The weapon is fully detailed and accurately resembles the original gun. Of course, in this larger scale no detail has been left untouched by the designers. Furthermore, it moves like the real thing, with the weapon able to rotate 360^(o) on its platform, and with the barrel able to elevate to any angle selected by the modeler. As the cannon elevates, the mechanism is carefully engineered so the gun sight moves in tandem. The incluson of a metal gun barrel ensures detail is maximised, and the distinctive holes found on the flash suppressor are present. Although it’s full of complex detail, this plastic kit is simple to assemble. A ready supply of ammunition means this compact weapon is also ready to immediately swing into action against either air or ground targets! Per saperne di più

The latest item features two complete antitank rifles that were used especially in the early days of WWII. One is the PzB 39 (the abbreviation stands for Panzerbuchse 39, or “armor-hunting rifle”). The PzB 39 was supposed to give infantrymen a lightweight weapon with which to tackle enemy tanks. It was 1.62m long and it weighed 12.6kg. By the time of the invasion of Russian in 1941, a total of 25,298 PzB 39s were in the hands of the infantry. It continued in use until 1944, but by then it was hopelessly outclassed when trying to penetrate thick enemy armor. One variant of the PzB 39 antitank rifle was the Granatbuchse 39 (GrB 39), this being a rifle grenade launcher created from 1942 onwards. The barrel was shortened and a firing cup attachment was threaded on. The GrB 39 could fire the same type of anti-personnel, light antitank and large-diameter antitank grenades used with the standard Kar 98k rifle. Both these weapons are contained in this kit set. They are made according to Dragon’s exacting standards in a precise 1/6 scale. Parts are cleverly broken down into components that assemble easily to produce an accurate replica of the PzB 39 and GrB 39. As a special bonus, this set also comes with a third weapon. The bonus weapon is a 2.7cm Sturmpistole, also referred to as a Walther Leuchtpistole. It was designed to fire small specially designed high-explosive grenades. It was fitted with a padded stock to reduce the shock on the firer’s arm. This light weapon was widely used, particularly on the Eastern Front, for anti-personnel duties. This 1/6 model, like the larger weapons, is highly detailed, and it smoothly goes together to produce a very interesting miniature weapon. Per saperne di più
