One method of improving this situation was to develop the 2cm FlaK 38, which had a rate of fire of 220 rpm. However, this was still insufficient, and so Rheinmetall combined four 20mm cannons onto a single mount. The resulting weapon, known as the Flakvierling 38, then produced a practical rate of fire of 800 rpm. Produced from 1940 onwards by Mauser, the 1509kg weapon was usually operated by a crew of eight men. Of course, the 2cm Flakvierling 38 could be employed against ground targets as effectively as against low-flying aircraft too. Dragon has already created a 1/6 scale kit of the 2cm FlaK 38, and this single-barreled antiaircraft cannon was heartily welcomed by big-scale model fans. Now Dragon has produced in the same scale a new kit of the four-barreled Flakvierling 38, a subject which will be no less popular. The armored gun shield is made in a true-to-scale thickness, and the triangular gun platform is fully detailed. The 2cm cannons can be elevated or traversed according to the modeler’s wishes, and of course appropriate figures can be added to form a diorama. This four-barreled German cannon is ready to take on any enemy aircraft foolhardy enough to venture anywhere near it! Per saperne di più

It formed the backbone of innumerable American, British and Commonwealth armored formations. The popular Sherman was thus the logical choice when Dragon’s design team sought a subject for their next 1/6 scale plastic kit project. The specific Sherman variant selected is an M4A3 fitted with a 105mm gun. This type was a welded-hull tank powered by a 500hp Ford GAA V8 gasoline engine, and it mounted a 105mm gun suitable for the close-support role. The M4A3 was the preferred variant for the US Army, meaning it was widely used in WWII. This Sherman is a big release for Dragon in more ways than one. It's big on accurate details, and although some moldings are large, there is no deformation of parts. Modelers will find this satisfying kit fits together precisely. The road wheels rotate, and the tracks with individual links are well-designed and well-engineered so as to be both durable and realistic. For greater interest, the tracks come with new duckbills that were used to improve traction on soft ground. Owners can traverse the turret and elevate and depress the gun towards any target they select. The 105mm gun barrel is a newly tooled item. With this Sherman M4A3 105mm, the Allies have gained armored superiority in terms of 1/6 scale kits!

7,5cm PaK 97/38. Features: - Hollow gun muzzle - Gun can elevate to any angle - Gun cradle w/hand wheels - Gun shield true to scale - Bottom armored flap of gun shield is movable - Finely detailed wheels - Movable gun recoils like the real one - Movable gun breech can be displayed open/closed - Movable gun trails can be positioned in combat or travel modes Despite the output of Germany’s massive armaments industry, the thirst for more weapons throughout WWII proved insatiable. One solution was to employ captured weapons, and this is exactly what the Wehrmacht did with the French Canon de 75 mode`le 1897 field gun. Hundreds of these cannons manufactured by Schneider were captured during the Polish and French campaigns in 1939-40, and were subsequently pressed into German service as howitzers. However, faced with well-armored Soviet tanks in 1941, there was a desperate need for more powerful antitank weapons. Until more 7.5cm PaK 40 cannons could be produced, an expedient solution was to place gun barrels from the French Canon de 75 mode`le 1897 onto the carriage of a PaK 38. Fitted with a muzzle brake, the resulting weapon was called the 7.5cm PaK 97/38. This hybrid weapon could be used in the antitank role because it primarily fired HEAT rounds, which didn’t rely on velocity. A total of 3700+ PaK 97/38 cannons were produced in 1942-43, and many soldiered on until late in the war. Dragon has produced a 1/6 scale kit of this important German antitank weapon. Utilizing the split-trail gun carriage and double-layered gun shield from the previously issued 1/6 scale PaK 38 5cm antitank gun, these subassemblies have been matched with a brand new barrel and muzzle brake. The round-shaped breech is also notable for being a new tooling. Modelers are able to display the gun in either towed or firing mode. Furthermore, the gun can traverse, elevate and depress just like the original. This new kit is ready to take on any type of enemy armor, and it constitutes an instant diorama if suitable figures are added. Per saperne di più

Features: - Gun sight with well-defined detail - Gun can be elevated to any angle selected by modeler - Gun sight moves in tandem with gun barrel - Structure & mechanisms realistically reproduced - Gunner protection shield true to scale - Gun can be assembled at fixed angle - Round platform with full detail - Metal gun barral - Details of gun accurately depict real one - Position of holes & shape of flash suppressor & muzzle brake accurately represented - Ammo and ammo clips included - Gunner's seat with fine detail - Cartograf Decal offers accurate marking Early in WWII, the Luftwaffe ruled the skies over Europe. However, as the war progressed, this domination was reversed. The need for antiaircraft weapons became pressing, although the primary light AA gun - the 2cm FlaK 38 (Fliegerabwehrkanone 38) - was inadequate towards the war’s end. The FlaK 38 was an improved version of the FlaK 30, with a much-improved theoretical rate of fire of 420-480 rounds per minute, although in practice it was half of this due to the 20-round box magazines that fed it. Mauser’s 2cm FlaK 38 was adopted gun in March 1940, and more than 17,000 FlaK 30 and FlaK 38 examples were to see widespread service in WWII. The weapon had a muzzle velocity of 900m/s and its maximum effective range was 2,200m. The gun was usually hauled around on a two-wheeled Sd.Ah. 51 trailer. A fine 2cm FlaK 38 antiaircraft gun is the latest arrival in Dragon’s expanding range of 1/6 scale kit sets. The weapon is fully detailed and accurately resembles the original gun. Of course, in this larger scale no detail has been left untouched by the designers. Furthermore, it moves like the real thing, with the weapon able to rotate 360^(o) on its platform, and with the barrel able to elevate to any angle selected by the modeler. As the cannon elevates, the mechanism is carefully engineered so the gun sight moves in tandem. The incluson of a metal gun barrel ensures detail is maximised, and the distinctive holes found on the flash suppressor are present. Although it’s full of complex detail, this plastic kit is simple to assemble. A ready supply of ammunition means this compact weapon is also ready to immediately swing into action against either air or ground targets! Per saperne di più

The latest item features two complete antitank rifles that were used especially in the early days of WWII. One is the PzB 39 (the abbreviation stands for Panzerbuchse 39, or “armor-hunting rifle”). The PzB 39 was supposed to give infantrymen a lightweight weapon with which to tackle enemy tanks. It was 1.62m long and it weighed 12.6kg. By the time of the invasion of Russian in 1941, a total of 25,298 PzB 39s were in the hands of the infantry. It continued in use until 1944, but by then it was hopelessly outclassed when trying to penetrate thick enemy armor. One variant of the PzB 39 antitank rifle was the Granatbuchse 39 (GrB 39), this being a rifle grenade launcher created from 1942 onwards. The barrel was shortened and a firing cup attachment was threaded on. The GrB 39 could fire the same type of anti-personnel, light antitank and large-diameter antitank grenades used with the standard Kar 98k rifle. Both these weapons are contained in this kit set. They are made according to Dragon’s exacting standards in a precise 1/6 scale. Parts are cleverly broken down into components that assemble easily to produce an accurate replica of the PzB 39 and GrB 39. As a special bonus, this set also comes with a third weapon. The bonus weapon is a 2.7cm Sturmpistole, also referred to as a Walther Leuchtpistole. It was designed to fire small specially designed high-explosive grenades. It was fitted with a padded stock to reduce the shock on the firer’s arm. This light weapon was widely used, particularly on the Eastern Front, for anti-personnel duties. This 1/6 model, like the larger weapons, is highly detailed, and it smoothly goes together to produce a very interesting miniature weapon. Per saperne di più
  6. German Kz 8cm GrW 42 Mortar

German Kz 8cm GrW 42 Mortar. Features - Bipod can be folded up as on the original - Adjustable mount allow different angles of Kz 8cm GrW 42 w/base - Adjustable mechanism allow different heights of Kz 8cm GrW 42 - Realistic cleaning rod and intricate 8cm mortar rounds are produced A new 1/6 scale weapon kit is hitting the streets. Item No. 75023 features a German mortar, a variant that is perhaps as not as well known as others that were employed in WWII. The kurzer 8cm Granatwerfer 42 (abbreviated to kz 8cm GrW 42) was developed as a lighter version of the standard 8cm GrW 34 mortar, and it was commonly referred to as Stummelwerfer (“stump-thrower”) by troops. The smaller size made it particularly useful for German paratroopers who needed a weapon that was easier to move around, but still offered more punch than the diminutive 5cm leGrW 36. It had a shorter barrel than the standard 8cm mortar (barrel length is 747mm), but it could still fire twice as far a round that weighed 3.5x the earlier 5cm mortar. Furthermore, at 26.5kg, it was half the weight of the leGrW 36. Maximum range was in the order of 1100m. Produced from 1941-45, the kz 8cm GrW 42 could be broken down into three loads for transport. Its effectiveness meant it served with Wehrmacht and other units as well as the airborne users it was originally intended for. Dragon’s 1/6 scale kit is an exquisite recreation of this German mortar. It mimics a working mortar in that the bipod can be folded up and the legs adjusted to whatever angle the modeler wishes. This working mechanism means the mortar tube can “fire” at different angles. The mortar is accurately engineered in plastic parts, but the kit also includes 8cm mortar rounds, plus a barrel cleaning rod. By offering all these accessories, Dragon allows modelers to produce a dynamic vignette with this mortar as the centerpiece. Per saperne di più

MG15 w/tripod. Features - MG 15 can be elevated and towered as per the original mechanism - Gun sight is realistically presented - Delicate muzzle w/details - Movable bolt mechanism - Detailed saddle Drum for MG 15 - Delicate stand mount - Tripod can be folded up as on the original - Adjustable legs allow different gun heights "Germany produced some highly effective machine guns like the MG 42 during WWII, but perhaps one of the lesser known is the MG 15. This particular weapon of 7.92mm caliber was originally designed for use in aircraft as a crew-served weapon on a flexible mount. Designed in the 1930s for use on Luftwaffe aircraft, it was eventually superseded by weapons like the MG 81, MG 131 and MG 151/20 by the year 1941. By this point the MG 15 was being modified for employment by ground troops. Indeed, by the start of 1944, a total of 17,648 MG 15 weapons had been modified for ground use. Typically the MG 15 used a 75-round double drum (also called a “saddle drum”). The gun measured 1.078m long. Dragon has already released German light weapons in its 1/6 scale series of weapon kits, including the famous MG 42. Now comes the MG 15, which is distinguished by being mounted on a tripod ready for use as an antiaircraft weapon. The 1/6 scale weapon is made to exacting tolerances, and the parts fit together with precision. The tripod too is a sophisticated piece of engineering, with every detail faithfully incorporated. " What’s more, the tripod is designed to be adjustable in height, thus allowing it to be matched with a suitable action figure if desired. Of course, the double-drum ammo magazine is also included, as is a ring sight for antiaircraft use. This machine gun and tripod combination from Dragon is yet another fine item suitable for a desktop display! Per saperne di più

Features - Recoilless rifle can be elevated and lowered as per the original mechanism - Recoilless rifle can be traversed to point in any direction - Tripod can be folded up as on the original - Elevation and traverse mechanisms represented in detail - Weapon sight system delicately replicated Allied troops had to counter thickly armored German tanks during WWII. American infantry were equipped with the famous bazooka, but something extra was still needed for light forces to help them counter the enemy armor threat. One solution was the M20 recoilless rifle, which was developed by the Ordnance Development Small Arms Division from 1944 onwards. The key feature of a recoilless rifle is that the perforated shell casing and rear-vented breech greatly reduce the level of recoil. Production of the M20 commenced in March 1945, meaning only limited numbers saw service in the closing days of WWII. Instead, the 75mm M20 recoilless rifle saw considerable use in the Korean War, but despite being designed as an anti-armor weapon it proved inadequate when engaging the T-34. Nevertheless, the M20 was effectively used against lightly armored vehicles, soft-skin vehicles and field fortifications. Eventually, recoilless rifles like the M20 were phased out in the 1960s-70s in favor of wire-guided missile systems. Dragon’s newest 1/6 scale weapon kit is an M20 recoilless rifle. The original 2.08m-long weapon has been perfectly scaled down, and the model is replete with fine detail. The kit fits together accurately owing to careful engineering by Dragon’s designers. The weapon can be elevated and traversed on its M1917A1 tripod, which allows modelers to pose the weapon in any position or direction they wish. Although the gun could be fitted on a jeep, Dragon has depicted the model in its portable light infantry role. The new M20 recoilless rifle makes a perfect companion to other 1/6 scale American support weapons that have already been released in this popular series, models like the Bazooka, M2 .50-cal machine gun, M1919 machine gun and 60mm mortar.
