Dragon has produced a fantastic 1/35 scale plastic kit of the Flakpanzer IV Ostwind. Owing to the turret being open-topped, all the relevant details on the gun and inside the turret are well represented. The cannon is particularly well defined and the barrel can be posed in any one of several different angles depending on whether the modeler has an aerial or ground target in view. The hull also carries a readymade Zimmerit coating that is masterfully represented. Inside the box, modelers will find many slide-molded plastic components. This latest kit from Dragon allows modelers to create the Flakpanzer IV Ostwind that was used by Flugabwehrzug (antiaircraft platoons) to protect units from marauding aircraft late in the war. The famed SAS unit of the British Army was formed in July 1941 by David Stirling. It was a commando force designed to operate deep behind enemy lines, something it did very successfully. This box-top illustration depicted a famous wartime photograph taken in North Africa that featured Colonel Stirling conversing with his troops. By introducing this seven-figure set #6682, Dragon has now gone the whole way in allowing modelers to recreate the entire photo, with those 1/4-ton 4x4 trucks released earlier. The new 1/35 scale figure set has the commander, Colonel Stirling, as its centerpiece, supported by six other figures sitting in their specially adapted vehicles. The soldiers are all wearing typical SAS garb, a potpourri of styles and apparel. The plastic figures provide a true likeness to the characters in that famous photo. By combining this full set of figures with Dragon’s vehicle sets, modelers can reproduce a piece of history. Or alternatively, the figures are versatile enough to be mixed and matched to produce a completely different scene showing potent SAS teams ranging across the desert sands of North Africa! Intricate Flakpanzer V newly designed New twin 3.7cm FlaK 43 cannons can be adjusted to different positions One-piece plastic gun barrels are well detailed Slide-molded upper hull w/full detail Armored sife skirts reproduced Detailed desidned for rear plate and stowage boxes Engine deck w/delicate details Intricate road wheels One-piece DS tracks Germany's Luftwaffe was numerically outnumbered as WWII progressed, with the Fatherland and tactical units constantly being bombed and strafed by enemy aircraft. This called for more effective antiaircraft systems than Germany hitherto possessed, which initially were often poorly protected halftracks. New self-propelled AA types were put into service, including the Flakpanzer IV. A new type was also planned – the Flakpanzer V "Coelian" from Rheinmetall - though it was never put into production due to the war's end and the lack of enough chassis for conversion. The Coelian featured a special armored turret that would protect the crew inside the vehicle. It used a standard Panther tank chassis upon which were mounted twin 3.7cm FlaK 43 cannons. Dragon is now offering a fine 1/72 scale model kits of this interesting-looking German AA vehicle. It features the dual antiaircraft guns mounted based on a Panther chassis. The fully enclosed turret is a brand new molding, carefully replicating the prototypical structure and the twin-barrel cannons mounted inside. The turret and gun system is made true to scale. While this system never had the requisite time to get off the drawing board, Dragon's engineers are proud to bring this exciting model kits to modelers! Per saperne di più

An Sd.Kfz.260 was released a short time ago, and now Dragon is offering yet another interesting variant. This time it is an Sd.Kfz.261. The Sd.Kfz.260 and 261 were similar in that they were both designed for signals units, with a total of 493 produced from November 1940 through till April 1943. They were designed specifically as armored (but unarmed) radio communication vehicles. The Sd.Kfz.261 was fitted with a FuG.12 long-range radio set connected to a frame antenna and also a telescopic antenna. In due course the Sd.Kfz.260/261 family was replaced by halftrack radio vehicles. Dragon's 1/72 scale model makes use of the newly tooled Sd.Kfz.260. It has brand new parts such as the frame antenna and the exquisitely produced telescopic antenna mounted on the left side of the hull. These radio components provide the Sd.Kfz.261 with a unique silhouette and cause it to really stand out from other members of the Leichter Panzerspahwagen family. The hull-top opening is made of plastic, this material being much easier to work with than photo-etched parts. After painting in appropriate colors, modelers can apply Cartograf high-quality decals to finish off their distinctive-looking Sd.Kfz.261! Per saperne di più

MG15 w/tripod. Features - MG 15 can be elevated and towered as per the original mechanism - Gun sight is realistically presented - Delicate muzzle w/details - Movable bolt mechanism - Detailed saddle Drum for MG 15 - Delicate stand mount - Tripod can be folded up as on the original - Adjustable legs allow different gun heights "Germany produced some highly effective machine guns like the MG 42 during WWII, but perhaps one of the lesser known is the MG 15. This particular weapon of 7.92mm caliber was originally designed for use in aircraft as a crew-served weapon on a flexible mount. Designed in the 1930s for use on Luftwaffe aircraft, it was eventually superseded by weapons like the MG 81, MG 131 and MG 151/20 by the year 1941. By this point the MG 15 was being modified for employment by ground troops. Indeed, by the start of 1944, a total of 17,648 MG 15 weapons had been modified for ground use. Typically the MG 15 used a 75-round double drum (also called a “saddle drum”). The gun measured 1.078m long. Dragon has already released German light weapons in its 1/6 scale series of weapon kits, including the famous MG 42. Now comes the MG 15, which is distinguished by being mounted on a tripod ready for use as an antiaircraft weapon. The 1/6 scale weapon is made to exacting tolerances, and the parts fit together with precision. The tripod too is a sophisticated piece of engineering, with every detail faithfully incorporated. " What’s more, the tripod is designed to be adjustable in height, thus allowing it to be matched with a suitable action figure if desired. Of course, the double-drum ammo magazine is also included, as is a ring sight for antiaircraft use. This machine gun and tripod combination from Dragon is yet another fine item suitable for a desktop display! Per saperne di più
