T17E2 STAGHOUND AA This version of the Staghound armoured car was built to offer anti-craft defence to the advanced reconnaissance unit and the allies refuelling convoys. The vehicle, equipped with a slightly armoured single-seat tower, armed with two calibre 12.7 mm Browining machine guns, was based on the hull of the Staghound armoured car, with the exterior aspect slightly modified. La VW Typ 82 Kübelwagen si distinse fin da subito per le notevoli prestazioni su ogni tipo di percorso, nonostante l’esigua potenza e la trazione sulle sole ruote posteriori. Il progetto risaliva al Dicembre del 1939 ma all’inizio questa vettura non fu accolta con grande entusiasmo, le si rimproveravano la posizione posteriore del motore, raffreddato ad aria, e la mancanza della trazione integrale. This eight-wheel vehicle, well ahead of its time, had much influence on British, French, Russian, Dutch and other armoured cars. This was the Wehrmacht's last offensive on the western front before the final surrender in 1945. The “Wacht am Rhein” plan envisaged, on the part of General Von Rundstedt , the use of many elite units of Wehrmacht and of Waffen SS. The climax of the offensive was the siege of Bastogne, on December 21st, 1944. The town was defended by the 101st Airborne Division. Pz. Kpfw. I Ausf. B CONTAINS ONE FIGURE, PHOTO ETCHED FRET AND LINK AND LENGHT TRACKS The Panzerkampfwagen I was the first German mass-produced tank. Born in the early '30s to provide to the German army a light tank, able to stay in line with the constraints imposed by the Treaty of Versailles, which could be useful for the training of the crews of future Panzer Divisions and able to support the operations of the infantry. Armed with two 7.92 mm machine guns mounted in the turret, it was very maneuverable but characterized by a thin armor. The Ausf. B version was improved in the powertrain and in the track system. It took part in the Spanish Civil War and contributed to the first Wehrmacht winning operations during the Second World War as the invasion of Poland and France. However, due to its weapons and its armor, the Panzer I’s performance in combat was limited and became very soon rather old compared to other light tanks of the era.
