KFZ. 140/1 AUFKLARUNGSP.38 (T) The Sd.Kfz. 140/1 was built as an advanced recognition vehicle for the German army, using the chassis of the Czech-designed 38T tank which was used by the German troops after its annexation of Czechoslovakia. Due to the excellent qualities of the 38T, its chassis was widely used for anti-tank and artillery vehicles, as well as for this recognition vehicle equipped with a turret with a 20 mm gun. The “Semovente” 75/18 M40, developed by Fiat Ansaldo, was employed by Regio Esercito from the end of 1941 in North Africa and was used up to the end of World War II. Although it was developed on the tank M13/40 old frame, was the only Italian armored vehicle, produced in large numbers, to pose a serious threat to Allied tanks. Its 75mm gun had a good fire power and was effective even with the most modern and heavily armored enemy tanks like the Sherman. The good and effective gun was not able to compensate several weaknesses such as a too light armor and a unreliable and weak engine directly derived from the tank M13/40. The Italian Semovente was used, in particular, by Ariete and Littorio Armoured Division in North Africa but also, up to the end of war, by Repubblica Sociale in the North of Italy. Pz. Kpfw. I Ausf. B CONTAINS ONE FIGURE, PHOTO ETCHED FRET AND LINK AND LENGHT TRACKS The Panzerkampfwagen I was the first German mass-produced tank. Born in the early '30s to provide to the German army a light tank, able to stay in line with the constraints imposed by the Treaty of Versailles, which could be useful for the training of the crews of future Panzer Divisions and able to support the operations of the infantry. Armed with two 7.92 mm machine guns mounted in the turret, it was very maneuverable but characterized by a thin armor. The Ausf. B version was improved in the powertrain and in the track system. It took part in the Spanish Civil War and contributed to the first Wehrmacht winning operations during the Second World War as the invasion of Poland and France. However, due to its weapons and its armor, the Panzer I’s performance in combat was limited and became very soon rather old compared to other light tanks of the era. Gulf war 25th anniversary battle set THE BOX CONTAINS: M1A1 Abrams - AH-1W Supercobra - T-62 - Mi-25 Hind-D On August 1990, the Iraqi troops invaded Kuwait without notice. The reaction was immediate with the United Nations that declared a Resolution placed economic sanctions on Saddam Hussein’s Government. More than 30 States, led by United States, deployed forces to create a Coalition with the purpose to expel Iraqi troops from Kuwait. The war began with an aerial and a naval bombardment on 17 January 1991 and after 5 weeks it was followed by a ground assault on 24th February. After few days, the Coalition forces, led by General Norman Schwarzkopf, thanks to a clear technological superiority and an excellent level of co-ordination between the various armed forces involved, were able to defeat the Iraqi forces A cease-fire was declared 100 hours after the ground campaign started.
