To keep this medium tank competitive on the battlefield, it received a number of improvements in armor and armament throughout its life. The Pz.Kpfw.III Ausf.J, manufactured between March 1941 and July 1942, was the first model to feature 50mm-thick basic frontal armor. The rear and engine deck were also redesigned owing to the hull being lengthened. Late-Production models of the Ausf.J received the longer and more effective 5cm KwK38 gun of L/60 caliber. A total of 1,549 tanks of this mark were produced, ensuring it was widely used on both the Eastern Front and in North Africa. Dragon's brand new 1/72 scale kit of a Panzer III Ausf.J depicts a Late-Production variant. Utilizing developments and research from an earlier 1/35 scale Smart Kit counterpart, this model is another masterpiece of engineering and design. It's replete with a sizzling level of detail. This Panzer III J is fully detailed yet it offers a good balance of easy assembly through such features as DS tracks. The Ausf.J's use against T-34s and KV-1 tanks in Russia, or Grants and Valentines on North Africa's battlefields, provides modelers with ample inspiration in portraying this tank in a diorama. Modelers are supported by a selection of high-quality decal markings, making this indeed an exciting new Panzer III kit from Dragon! Per saperne di più

Now Dragon is offering its partner, the VK.45.02(P)V, with the ‘V’ in the designation denoting Vorwarts. This alludes to the fact that the turret was mounted further forward on the hull (i.e. in front of rather than behind the engines) in a more conventional manner than occurred with the H type. One example was to see combat. The one-piece upper hull on this kit is a brand new molding suitable for this variant. The unique deck layout depicts the accurate engine deck details. The hull also carries the Porsche turret later assigned to the Tiger II, and there are also easy-to-assemble DS tracks. The ‘V’ version of this Porsche prototype allows modelers to move forward onto something new and special! Per saperne di più

On a rear-mounted rack it’s loaded with “flimsies” containing POL (petrol, oil, lubricants), plus two large fuel tanks are fitted in the rear compartment to allow reconnaissance missions deep behind the frontlines. A special modification introduced for the ETO was an armor plate with bulletproof glass screens in front of the driver’s/front passenger’s compartment, and these elements are newly included in this plastic kit. The SAS vehicle is also heavily armed with fast-firing, twin-mount Vickers K machine guns ready for use against ground or aerial targets. Features: - Bonus Wehrmacht Infantry, Barbarossa 1941 (4 figures set) - Value-added Magic Tracks w/accurate details Operation Barbarossa, the German invasion of Russia, was the world’s largest ever military operation both in terms of its scale and the price paid in casualties. On June 22, 1941, more than 4.5 million German and Axis troops attacked Russia along a 2,900km front. As well as these soldiers, the enormous military undertaking involved 600,000 vehicles and 750,000 horses. Barbarossa continued into the winter of December 1941, by which time the attack had faltered at the very gates of Moscow. Russia committed 3.2 million soldiers against the initial assault, and later fed in 5 million further soldiers. One of the armored fighting vehicles that Germany made good use of at that time was the Sturmgeschu"tz III assault gun. Based on the chassis of the Panzer III tank, this successful vehicle eventually became Germany’s most-produced AFV. One of the StuG.III variants employed during Operation Barbarossa was the Ausf.B, which mounted a short-barreled 7.5cm gun. A total of 300 StuG.III Ausf.B vehicles were built as close-support vehicles for the infantry. Cyber-Hobby is launching a useful set in its Orange Box line. The box includes a 1/35 scale StuG.III Ausf.B model kit accompanied by a set of four Wehrmacht infantrymen marching across Russia’s vast steppes. The vehicle and soldiers are perfect for depicting the summer timeframe of Operation Barbarossa, a campaign that marks its 70th anniversary this year. Both these items are classic Dragon items. The 1/35 scale figure set has not been available for some time, but the marching figures are as sharply sculpted and well-posed today as they were a decade ago when they were first released. As for the StuG.III kit, it has been upgraded with new Magic Tracks. This economical Orange Box set allows modelers to recreate a typical scene from Operation Barbarossa. Per saperne di più
