One version was the Stuka zu Fuss mounting the Wurfrahmen 40 rocket launcher system, ideal for providing a heavy bombardment capability to panzergrenadier units. Dragon is now going to release such a vehicle in Ausf.D version. The Ausf. D hull featured a simplified construction, thus making production easier for Germany’s overstrained industry. This 1/72 scale Sd.Kfz. 251 halftrack model is highly detailed with accurate dimensions. The six rocket launcher frames mounted on the hull are reproduced by new photo-etched parts. The Stuka zu Fuss offered a heavy weapon to German motorized units, and Dragon's offers modelers an excellent new choice in halftracks! This called for more effective antiaircraft systems than Germany hitherto possessed. A new vehicle was planned – the 5.5cm Zwilling Flakpanzer V – though like the Flakpanzer V “Coelian”, it was never put into production. Development of the twin-barrel 5.5cm Zwilling was authorized on 8 May 1944 and it featured a special Krupp armored turret weighing 9.06 tonnes mounted on a Panther Ausf.G chassis. The antiaircraft vehicle would require a four-man crew and carry 104 ammo rounds. A wooden prototype turret was completed by January 1945, although further development of the 5.5cm Zwilling Flakpanzer V was eventually cancelled on 14 February. Per saperne di più -

The new Dragon kit shows a 1/4-Ton 4x4 Truck modified by the SAS for ETO missions. On a rear-mounted rack it’s loaded with “flimsies” containing POL (petrol, oil, lubricants), plus two large fuel tanks are fitted in the rear compartment to allow reconnaissance missions deep behind the frontlines. A special modification introduced for the ETO was an armor plate with bulletproof glass screens in front of the driver’s/front passenger’s compartment, and these elements are newly included in this plastic kit. The SAS vehicle is also heavily armed with fast-firing, twin-mount Vickers K machine guns ready for use against ground or aerial targets.
