50,00 €Operation Cobra 1944 ( battle set ) After the success of Operation Overlord and the consolidation of the bridgehead on the beaches of Normandy, it was essential to achieve by the Allied troops, a significant penetration through the German defenses. Operation Cobra was the codename of the offensive, planned by Lieutenant General Omar Bradley, that had the goal to break the German defense line around St.Lo and advance towards Brittany and the Seine. The Operation Cobra began on 25th July 1944 with a heavy aerial bombardment and was followed by intense fighting in the difficult terrain of the Norman countryside. The “bocage” created a lot of constraints to the armored vehicles and to the infantry movements and activities. The few reinforcements were employed by Germans in various counterattacks but after some days of fighting the defensive lines collapsed under the pressure of Allied troops. The Operation Cobra completed successfully what began on the Normandy Beaches during the D-Day and was the starting point for the liberation of Paris. Per saperne di più -

KFZ. 140/1 AUFKLARUNGSP.38 (T) The Sd.Kfz. 140/1 was built as an advanced recognition vehicle for the German army, using the chassis of the Czech-designed 38T tank which was used by the German troops after its annexation of Czechoslovakia. Due to the excellent qualities of the 38T, its chassis was widely used for anti-tank and artillery vehicles, as well as for this recognition vehicle equipped with a turret with a 20 mm gun. THE BOX CONTAIN: 1 MODEL KIT - 1 LIQUID CEMENT - 1 TANK GUIDE - WORLD oF TANKS DECALS - 3 INVITE CODES - 1 BONUS CODE Official German designation: Sturmgeschutz (StuG) 8.8cm Pak43/2 (Ferdinand/Elefant) The StuG 8.8cm was based on the unsuccessful Porsche Tiger chassis fitted with a heavily armoured superstructure in the front and a mounted 8,8cm Pak 43/2 L/71 gun. A total of 90 vehicles were produced; they first saw combat in the Battle of Kursk (Operation Citadel). It was built in 1943 under the name Ferdinand, after its designer Ferdinand Porsche, but was soon renamed. After the Battle of Kursk, the remaining 48 vehicles were pulled out of service and given an overhaul. This included a ball-mount machine gun in the front along with a commander’s cupola. The name Elefant was soon decided upon. The vehicle was received with mixed feelings. It provided good protection with its thick armour but was severely unreliable in its mechanics due to the use of non-standard parts.
