The supersonic interceptor aircraft F-104 Starfighter was, without doubts, one of the most famous, and long-lasting, aircraft in History. The F-104 entered in service in the late ‘50s and served with USAF for a long time. Later on, it has formed the fighter squadrons of several NATO air forces for more than 40 years. For instance the Italian Air Forces used the F-104, constantly updated in avionics, technology and weapon systems, until the mid of 2000s, replaced with the Eurofighter Typhoon : a real generation gap. The F-104 story and its ability to surprise are continuing nowadays thanks to private companies, such as Starfighters Inc. The company is located in the United States and operates the largest supersonic fleet owned by private organization. The Hawker Hurricane has been the most widely used fighter by the British Royal Air Force at the beginning of World War II. The Hurricane was powered by a Rolls-Royce Merlin 12-cylinders, liquid-cooled, with more than 1,000 HP that could lead to a speed above 500 km/h. The eight 7.7 mm Browning machine guns, which equipped it , guaranteed a good firepower. Although it was slower and more antiquated, for aerodynamic design, then the famous "colleague" with whom it shared the operational engagement during the Battle of Britain, however, was more robust, cheaper and easier to maintain and repair. He has contributed significantly to the victory of the RAF during the Battle of Britain, but during the war, it has gradually given the role of front-line fighter to the more modern Spitfire. HARVARD Mk.IIA SUPER DECALS SHEET Harvard is the name assigned to the North American T-6 Texan aircraft utilised by the Air Force in the British Commonwealth. It was also produced under license in Canada. The Harvard was a low-wing single engine advanced trainer aircraft used to train pilots and make them ready for combat. Thanks to its Pratt & Whitney R-1340 Wasp 600 hp radial engine, it was able to reach the speed of 335 km / h. The project was developed in the mid-'30s and it became one of the most popular trainer aircraft in aviation history by contributing to the training of a large number of military pilots. Outside of the United States, the British RAF was the most prominent user. However, by the end of World War II, the Harvard had an impressive spread and was used by the air forces of several Countries including Canada, Italy, Belgium and Netherlands . The F4 Corsair is considered to be one of the most successful carrier-based fighter aircraft to be developed during the Second World War, although, when it first came into service, the technical experts of the U.S Navy considered this large cantilever wing aircraft to be unsuitable for use on aircraft carriers. The Corsair obtained many outstanding aerial victories. In the Pacific Ocean theatre alone, the F4U shot down over 2,000 Japanese aircraft, with a loss of only 189 Corsairs, resulting in a kill / loss ratio which has never been equaled throughout history.
