The Wessex, easily recognizable by its distinctive line characterized the cockpit placed high, was produced by the British Westland under license. It was based on the American helicopter Sikorsky S-58 “Choctaw” project with the adoption of a British turbine-powered 1,200 HP Rolls-Royce engine. The Wessex has proved an extraordinary longevity. It was, for nearly three decades, employed by the British Royal Navy to carry out, in its different versions, many operational tasks. The Wessex UH.5, one of the latest version of Westland helicopter, was used during the period of Falklands War in the South Atlantic on 1982, and it was specialized to satisfy the tactical transportation needs of artillery, ammunitions and missile systems. FULLY UPGRADED MOULDS - SUPER DECALS SHEET - COLOR INSTRUCTIONS SHEET The RF-4E was the unarmed reconnaissance version of the famous Mc.Donnell Douglas two-seats fighter F-4 Phantom II. It was designed and developed for export and it was the combination of reconnaissance system of the RF-4C with the airframe and the powerful engines of the F-4E . The German Luftwaffe received the first samples in the early 70s and became one of the main users along with Japan, Iran, Israel and Greece. Further more many components and reconnaissance systems were also manufactured in Germany. The RF-4E was able to carry out reconnaissance missions "all-weather" in a very effective way thanks to the cameras installed in the bays, the infrared sensors, and the target looking radar system. Some Countries developed specific versions more in line with the specific operational use. The goal of the project was to create a twin-turboprop passenger aircraft that could be used as short-haul regional airliner. The low operating costs and the possibility to take off and to land on short runways were the main features of the small aircraft and were the base for the commercial success of the project. The ATR-500, introduced in the mid ‘90s, was the improved version and it adopts new engines and six-bladed propellers. Furthermore a dedicated military version, the ATR 42 MP “Surveyor” has been developed to perform maritime patrol duties. It is used by Italian Coast Guard, Capitanerie di Porto and Guardia di Finanza. Decals for 3 versions.
