The Mirage F1 was built to replace the preceding and notorious supersonic delta-wing Mirage III, which, thanks to its characteristics, allowed the French aircraft industry to achieve great technological superiority in the 1960s and 70s. The fighter version of the F1 Mirage entered service with the French Air Force in late 1973, and, within a few years, replaced all of the preceding Mirage III aircraft. Over the years the F1 has evolved due to the availability of new weapons and electronic equipment, which allowed it to remain in service until only a few years ago when, at least in France, it was replaced by the Mirage 2000 series. This elegant aircraft achieved major commercial success when it was exported in order to equip the air forces of several countries including Spain, Greece, South Africa and ten other nations in the Middle East and Africa. 32,00 €V-22 Osprey The V-22 Osprey convertoplane is now being distributed to evaluation divisions of the US Navy and Marines to define piloting and use methods for this new, revolutionary aircraft. Thanks to its large, swing-rotors, the Osprey is able to take off and land just like a helicopter. Once off the ground, thanks to the rotation of its engines, it flies like a normal plane, reaching the speed and range hitherto unheard of for a traditional “chopper”. The F-16 is the most widely used combat fighter aircraft in western air forces. After entering service over 30 years ago, this is valid testimony to the quality of the original concept. This has been supported by constant upgrades during its operational service. The F-16 was developed to meet USAF requirements as well as to offer allied nations a fighter to replace the existing F-100s, F-5s, F-104s and Mirages in the late 70s. A revolutionary new aerodynamic profile gives the F-16 excellent flying performance and great maneuverability. Together with the single seat version, the double seat was developed to train pilots in this new aircraft. Originally conceived to learn the increasing capacities of new electronic technologies, these training versions have been progressively converted to a true attack aircraft by the U.S. and Israeli Air Forces. They are deployed next to the fewer and more expensive F-15’s. The most recent F-16 DG and DJ versions are based on the Block 50 cell. Thanks to their sophisticated night vision systems with electronic equipment which allows for the use of laser and satellite guided ammunitions; this machine has turned into a real multi-role aircraft.
