ES-3A Shadow The ES-3A Shadow has been derived directly from the famous twin-engines anti-submarine Lockheed S-3 Viking. It was designed as a carrier-based, subsonic, all-weather, long-range, electronic reconnaissance aircraft with the specific purpose to replace the aging EA-3B Skywarrior starting from the beginning of '90s. Basically the ES-3A was developed on modified S-3A where an extensive set of electronic and modern sensors and communication tools replaced the submarine detection and maritime surveillance equipment. The new operating configuration has not changed the flight performance of Lockheed airframe. The ES-3A has in fact a good flight range and it is very reliable. Such features are very appreciate for its new mission profile to support the U.S. Navy fleet in the tactical communications of the various units of the battle group. Per saperne di più -

D-DAY SERIES - NORMANDY 1944/2014 The Hawker Typhoon was the most famous British single-seat fighter-bomber used by the Royal Air Force during the Second World War. Its robust structure and the outstanding aerodynamic performance at low altitude made it ideal to perform ground attack and close support duties. The main armament, in order to enhance the role of fighter-bomber, was mainly formed by four 20 mm Hispano cannons installed in the wings. Thanks to the reliable Napier Sabre 24 pistons engine (able to provide more than 2,200 hp), the Typhoon is able to reach a top speed of 660 Km / h and to carry 900 kg of rockets and bombs. It was widely used during the 1944 for the preliminary operations before the “D-Day”, through raids against communication and transport lines, and after the Allied Normandy landing to support the British ground forces and to attack enemy targets. The airframe structure of the Arado was optimized for the embarked purposes on main Germans vessels and cruisers. It can be catapulted directly from the vessel and with its fuselage-wing hinges backwards folding wings system, it can be better stowed on board. The fame for the Arado Ar 196 if for being an embarked recognisance (the battle cruisers Scharnhost and Gneisenau had three of them on board while the more famous ship of the Kriegsmarine, the Bismarck, had four Arado Ar 196) was used also in the role of cost shore reconnisance. The F-16 is the most widely used combat fighter aircraft in western air forces. After entering service over 30 years ago, this is valid testimony to the quality of the original concept. This has been supported by constant upgrades during its operational service. The F-16 was developed to meet USAF requirements as well as to offer allied nations a fighter to replace the existing F-100s, F-5s, F-104s and Mirages in the late 70s. A revolutionary new aerodynamic profile gives the F-16 excellent flying performance and great maneuverability. Together with the single seat version, the double seat was developed to train pilots in this new aircraft. Originally conceived to learn the increasing capacities of new electronic technologies, these training versions have been progressively converted to a true attack aircraft by the U.S. and Israeli Air Forces. They are deployed next to the fewer and more expensive F-15’s. The most recent F-16 DG and DJ versions are based on the Block 50 cell. Thanks to their sophisticated night vision systems with electronic equipment which allows for the use of laser and satellite guided ammunitions; this machine has turned into a real multi-role aircraft.
