The Hawker Hurricane has been the most widely used fighter by the British Royal Air Force at the beginning of World War II. The Hurricane was powered by a Rolls-Royce Merlin 12-cylinders, liquid-cooled, with more than 1,000 HP that could lead to a speed above 500 km/h. The eight 7.7 mm Browning machine guns, which equipped it , guaranteed a good firepower. Although it was slower and more antiquated, for aerodynamic design, then the famous "colleague" with whom it shared the operational engagement during the Battle of Britain, however, was more robust, cheaper and easier to maintain and repair. He has contributed significantly to the victory of the RAF during the Battle of Britain, but during the war, it has gradually given the role of front-line fighter to the more modern Spitfire. FULLY UPGRADED MOULDS - SUPER DECALS SHEET - COLOR INSTRUCTIONS SHEET The RF-4E was the unarmed reconnaissance version of the famous Mc.Donnell Douglas two-seats fighter F-4 Phantom II. It was designed and developed for export and it was the combination of reconnaissance system of the RF-4C with the airframe and the powerful engines of the F-4E . The German Luftwaffe received the first samples in the early 70s and became one of the main users along with Japan, Iran, Israel and Greece. Further more many components and reconnaissance systems were also manufactured in Germany. The RF-4E was able to carry out reconnaissance missions "all-weather" in a very effective way thanks to the cameras installed in the bays, the infrared sensors, and the target looking radar system. Some Countries developed specific versions more in line with the specific operational use. The Israelis RF-4E, for instance, has been upgraded in avionics and were able to carry air to air missiles as Sidewinders or Pythons. Per saperne di più -

The Douglas Skyraider was manufactured immediately after War World II. Despite its traditional piston motor, in an age when jets were spreading, the Skyraider had an extraordinary long career. It made its first flight in 1945 and it was retired from service only in 1975. It has participated to several conflicts, demonstrating its value in Korea and in Vietnam. Characterised by low speed manoeuvrability, it was able to transport impressive war cargos of over 3,500Kg. Perfect for ground attack missions, it was provided with robust armour to minimise fire damages from the enemy. France used more than 100 Skyraiders, many of which took part to the Algerian war, replacing the old T-6 Texan as insurgency aircraft and close support. ES-3A Shadow The ES-3A Shadow has been derived directly from the famous twin-engines anti-submarine Lockheed S-3 Viking. It was designed as a carrier-based, subsonic, all-weather, long-range, electronic reconnaissance aircraft with the specific purpose to replace the aging EA-3B Skywarrior starting from the beginning of '90s. Basically the ES-3A was developed on modified S-3A where an extensive set of electronic and modern sensors and communication tools replaced the submarine detection and maritime surveillance equipment. The new operating configuration has not changed the flight performance of Lockheed airframe. The ES-3A has in fact a good flight range and it is very reliable. It entered service during the sixties and it is one of the most famous airplanes of the military aviation history. In the original project, it was specifically designed for U.S. Navy but it has been used by all U.S. forces and it obtained a significant commercial success around the World. The F-4E version, specifically developed for the U.S. Air Force, adopted a M61 Vulcan cannon in the nose and it could be armed, to perform air-superiority missions, with AIM-9 Sidewinder and AIM-9 Sparrow air-to-air missiles. Thanks to its two General Electric J-79 powerful jet-engines, the F-4E was able to reach the top speed of 1,240 Knots.
