In the spring of 1949 the first flights of the Skyblazers Air Demonstration Team took places in the skies over Europe at the airbase in Furstenfeldbruk, Germany. The pilots were part of the 22nd fighter squadron from the 36th Fighter Wing as part of the USAFE (United States Air Forces in Europe). The team was instructed by the USAFE headquarters to create an aerobatics team using F-80B aircraft and perform demonstrations throughout Europe. Soon afterwards the team was given modified F-84E Thunderjet aircraft. The 50-caliber machine guns were removed from the front of the aircraft for better handling in the demonstrations. The Mirage F1 was built to replace the preceding and notorious supersonic delta-wing Mirage III, which, thanks to its characteristics, allowed the French aircraft industry to achieve great technological superiority in the 1960s and 70s. The fighter version of the F1 Mirage entered service with the French Air Force in late 1973, and, within a few years, replaced all of the preceding Mirage III aircraft. Over the years the F1 has evolved due to the availability of new weapons and electronic equipment, which allowed it to remain in service until only a few years ago when, at least in France, it was replaced by the Mirage 2000 series. This elegant aircraft achieved major commercial success when it was exported in order to equip the air forces of several countries including Spain, Greece, South Africa and ten other nations in the Middle East and Africa. 32,00 €V-22 Osprey The V-22 Osprey convertoplane is now being distributed to evaluation divisions of the US Navy and Marines to define piloting and use methods for this new, revolutionary aircraft. Thanks to its large, swing-rotors, the Osprey is able to take off and land just like a helicopter. Once off the ground, thanks to the rotation of its engines, it flies like a normal plane, reaching the speed and range hitherto unheard of for a traditional “chopper”.
