35,00 €F-4E Phantom II Italeri Type: Fighter aircrafts Period: Vietnam Country: United States Skill: 3 Model Dim.: 40,0 cm SUPER DECALS SHEET FOR 4 VERSIONS Developed by the American aircraft company McDonnell Douglas the F-4 Phantom II is a tandem two-seat, all-weather, supersonic fighter-bomber. It entered service during the sixties and it is one of the most famous airplanes of the military aviation history. In the original project, it was specifically designed for U.S. Navy but it has been used by all U.S. forces and it obtained a significant commercial success around the World. The F-4E version, specifically developed for the U.S. Air Force, adopted a M61 Vulcan cannon in the nose and it could be armed, to perform air-superiority missions, with AIM-9 Sidewinder and AIM-9 Sparrow air-to-air missiles. Thanks to its two General Electric J-79 powerful jet-engines, the F-4E was able to reach the top speed of 1,240 Knots. After forty years from the set up of the development, the Tornado is, still today, an aircraft with a significant operational capability. The Tornado is a twin-engine, variable sweep wing able to perform well as a low-level supersonic strike aircraft and able to “follow” the ground profile. The most successful commercial version was the ground attack variant IDS (Interdictor and strike). FULLY UPGRADED MOULDS - SUPER DECALS SHEET - COLOR INSTRUCTIONS SHEET The RF-4E was the unarmed reconnaissance version of the famous Mc.Donnell Douglas two-seats fighter F-4 Phantom II. It was designed and developed for export and it was the combination of reconnaissance system of the RF-4C with the airframe and the powerful engines of the F-4E . The German Luftwaffe received the first samples in the early 70s and became one of the main users along with Japan, Iran, Israel and Greece. Further more many components and reconnaissance systems were also manufactured in Germany. The RF-4E was able to carry out reconnaissance missions "all-weather" in a very effective way thanks to the cameras installed in the bays, the infrared sensors, and the target looking radar system. Some Countries developed specific versions more in line with the specific operational use.
