This kind of aircraft is the result of a joint development project carried out by British, German and Italian companies. Although during its lifetime it has been used for several purposes (ground attack, electronic combat/reconnaissance, interceptor), its main role has always been to perform low-altitude penetrating strike missions. Tornado can load and use a powerful and varied set of offensive weapons. The Tornado baptism of fire took place in 1991 during the Gulf War. This sleak twin-engine plane is an evolution of the ME-210 which was supposed to substitute the M-110 as a heavy fighter plane. This plan did not materialize due to serious problems with the aircraft’s engines. All of this resulted in a series of modifications which ended with the realization of the Model 410. Yet, despite all the improvements, the airplane inherited some technical problems which made sufficient distribution to all the various Luftwaffe units impossible. Bretling DC-3 Italeri Type: Cargo Period: Between the two Wars Country: United States Skill: 3 Model Dim.: 27,3 cm A group of fans managed to fly from Florida to Switzerland with a DC-3 built in 1940 and there it was registered as HB-IRJ. Breitling used it as advertising support and the operator is the Super Constellation Flyers Association. On March 12, 1940 the aeroplane was commissioned by American Airlines. Meanwhile, it has accumulated more than 74.000 hours of flight time and is still today in excellent condition. It reached a speed of 250 km/h and the aircraft does not have a pressurised cabin. BR.20 Cicogna. This aircraft first appeared in 1936 and was almost entirely built in metal. It became one of the most famous Italian medium bombers. The planes of the first series had their debut operationally in the Spanish Civil War with the 35th bomber Group “Le Cicogne” from which they took their name. In the same period the Japanese government order this aircraft for operation in ChinaIn 1939 the BR.20M appeared (M for "modificato" amended) on which there where several improvements and which had a different sharped nose. The BR.20's were placed with the various units of the Italian Royal Air Force and operated on almost all war fronts. In september 1940 the BR.20M's of the 13th and 43rd Bomber Wing took part in action, mainly at night, during the Battle of Britain operating from bases in Belgium, but were soon withdrawn as the situation in the Mediterranean worsened. The new multi-role EF-2000 fighter is being developed by a consortium of German, British, Italian and Spanish industries. After a series of delays of economical and technkcal nature, several prototypes have been built in the late nineties. Besides the singe-seat version the twin-seat variant was designated for pilot training and precision missiles attack missions.
