F-104 G “RECCE” The Lockheed F-104 Starfighter is one of the most famous fighters in the history of aviation and also one with the longest operational life: its history began at the end of the 50s and ended, for some air forces, in mid 2000s. Its unique airframe, with slender fuselage and very little wing surface, made this aircraft ideal as an interceptor. Thanks to the thrust of its General Electric J79-GE-11A afterburning turbojet engine, it could exceed Mach 2,2 with an excellent rate of climb. But it wasn't very maneuverable and difficult to pilot.The F-104G Starfighter was produced on license by several European aviation industries. From the mid 60s, it became the standard interceptor for many NATO countries including Italy, Germany, Holland, Greece, and Turkey. The armament was basically the same found on previous versions, with a 20mm Vulcan cannon and the option to fit under the wings air-to-air missiles, bombs, or additional fuel tanks to increase the airplane's range.With time, reconnaissance duties were added to the traditional interceptor service. The A-10 Thunderbolt II was developed by Fairchild Republic in the seventies with the purpose to create, accordingly the needs of USAF, a powerful aircraft capable to perform close air support missions including attacking tanks and armoured vehicles. The Thunderbolt II is heavily armoured and exceptionally tough. It is characterised by the two General Electric turbofan engines and the adoption of one of the most powerful aircraft gun ever flown : the 30 mm. GAU-8/A Avenger Gatling. Thanks to its eleven underwing and under fuselage pillars, the A-10 can carry an impressive offensive pay-load. The A-10 was used in combat for the first time during the Gulf War in 1991 and it has showed its operational effectiveness destroying more than 900 enemy tanks. Per saperne di più -
15,00 €F/A-18 Hornet Swiss air forces 2014 has been for the 'Swiss Air Force's the 100th anniversary. To celebrate the event during the Payerne Air Show Air 14 from 30 August to 7 September of 2014 was realized a new commemorative livery for one F-18 . The event was a huge success with around 400,000 visitors from all over the world. There were 184 performances in 'period of four days. The SU-34 is a development of the outstanding air superiority fighter SU-27 Flanker, which entered service with the Soviet forces towards the later Eighties. Major characteristics, superior to the Flanker, are: high manoeuvrability, an operational range of 4'000 km and a high payload. This plane will gradually replace the SU-24 Fencer, presently in service. The SU-34 has a completely redesigned front section to accommodate a two-seat cockpit with complex electronics to precision navigate and operate the sophisticated air-to-ground missile system. Alenia’s C-27J Spartan is the new well implemented and updated version of the predecessor tactical transport G 222. Two new and powerful turboprop Rolls-Royce AE2100-D2 are capable to bring the Spartan to exceed a speed of 600 km/H. It can transport up to 68 solders, 46 fully equipped parachutists or more then 11 tons of equipment. The model kit CAPRONI CA.311 is presented in the same box and with the original sprues of the first version released in 1975. The certified limited edition is guaranteed by an HOLOGRAM on the box which includes the sequence number of each kit. With this twin-engined Caproni plane thr Italian air force replaced the obsolete reconnaisance biplanes with a more modern and suitable plane for the new requirements of the air war. A twin-engined, three-seat monoplane, the CA 311 was used from 1940 to 1943 in Africa, in the Balkans and in Russia as a reconnaisance and ground-attack plane.
