  1. AC-119K Gunship
    27,00 €

    Non disponibile

The AC-119K could be easily recognized thanks to its two additional General Electric J85 turbojet engines in under wing pods. This allowed the availability of a heavier armament, consisting of two M61 Vulcan 20 mm cannons in addition to the AC-119G's four “miniguns”, and the possibility to have more modern and updated navigation and electronic countermeasures systems on board. The “Stinger” played its role as gunship very effectively alongside the early version of the bigger AC-130 Spectre carrying out several war missions. Per saperne di più

DO - 217 M - 1 Historic upgrade PRM ED The Dornier Do 217 was one of the best “performers” of the German Luftwaffe that ended up fulfilling various roles from bomber to reconnaissance aircraft and heavy-night fighter. This twin-engine 4-man aircraft appeared in prototype form by 1938 and would see several variants exist before the end of the war. Design of the Do 217 followed along the same lines of earlier Dornier bomber designs. Extetically ugly and with a “brutal”look, it was a scaled up Dornier Do 215 and initially powered by the same engines. In the late 1942 two new variants entered service, the K and M models. These had a rounded and streamlined nose profile; the reduction in drag and the use of powerful engines (expecially for the M version), enables the “217” to made some 50km/h faster than the earlier E model, with a bomb load of more than 4000kg. The Dornier 217 M, which first flew on July 16 of 1942, switch to more powerful in-lineV12 liquid cooled Daimler Benz DB603. This engine had better performance at high altitude than BMW 801. The Dornier 217, in majority K and M versions was present with KG2, KG40 and KG66. During Steinbock raids the “217” flown with a load of AB1000 and AB500 bombs container, charged with fire bomblets. The only capability in which the Do 217 was used up to the end of the war was as a night reconnaissance plane. In every way, the Do 217 was a success. It was fast, reliable and versatile. It wasn’t very easy to fly (it was heavy and dangerously fast in landing approach) but his high wing-load was an advantage in stability during bad weather bombing runs. The Do 217 was only built by the three Dornier plants: Dornier Werke Friedrichshafen (DWF): 316 aircraft, Dornier Werke München (DWM): 985 aircraft and Norddeutsche Dornier Werke (NDW): 602 aircraft. F4U - 5N CORSAIR - MODEL SET - The Corsair is one of the best known airplanes of World War Il which fought against the entire array of aircraft used by the Japanese Forces in the Pacific theatre. After the war the Corsairs were set aside, together with other propeller-driven planes, to expect demolition awaiting replacement by jet aircraft. In 1950, at the outbreak of the Korean conflict, more than one hundred units were re-activated to combat the onslaught of the North Korean Forces. The Corsair still proved a viable airplane, robust and reliable, superior to the first, rather delicate jets which were to end the Corsair's life span. Per saperne di più

Caproni CA. 311/311M Italeri The Ca.311 was projected as reconnaissance aircraft able to develop also missions as light bombardier and ground attack. The Italian company Officine Caproni realized their Ca. 310, then evolved in the Ca.311; the airplane, with elegant lines, was able to fly at 220 knots and was characterized by an almost entirely clear nose, particulary conceived for the better ground observation. Its armament was constituted from three 7,7 mm machine guns, one in ventral position , one in the Lanciani type revolving turret in dorsal position and one positioned on the left wing . The airplane was also able to transport up to 400 kilograms of bombs in the fuselage. The Ca.311 would have developed his missions from 1940 on all the war fronts: from northern Africa, to the Balkans and to Russia, recording also a certain success among the crews for his manageability and his reliability, despite the limited defensive armament and some problems about the reduced engines power. Several planes would have remained in service for training up to 1945, both with the Regia Aeronautica in the southern Italy and with the Aeronautica Nazionale Repubblicana in the north. The first flight took place in 1970 and from the mid-'70s, it was assigned to the flight departments. Thanks to two turbo propellers engines, the aircraft is able to reach the speed of 480 km / h. It also has an excellent handling and maneuverability even at full load. The Italian 46.ma Brigata Aerea located in Pisa was the main user of the G-222. From 2005 it has been progressively replaced , by the more modern C-27J Spartan. Per saperne di più

The Blue Angels, the United States Navy's flying aerobatic team, were created in 1946 immediately after the end of World War II. On November 1986, during the 40th anniversary year events, the Blue Angels made their transition from subsonic A-4 Skyhawk II to the new the McDonnell Douglas F/A-18 Hornet. The Blue Angels had already flown on aircrafts characterized by big size, as the F-4 Phantom II, but the choice of flying on a supersonic plane was, at those time, in contrast with the rest of the aerobatic teams, mostly Europeans, who preferred more maneuverable trainers. However, thanks to the F / A-18 Hornet extraordinary flying qualities and, in particular, the high maneuverability , the choice done was an immediate success and the new aircraft has made possible to implement a high level aerobatic program. Even today, after more than 25 years, the Blue Angels aerobatic tram is still formed by 6 F/A-18 Hornet. Per saperne di più
