AB 204B / UH-1 F AB - 204 B / UH - 1 F This version of the famous helicopter UH-1 Huey was produced in Italy under license for the Italian armed forces. Later other European countries were supplied as well with AB-204 Bs. (Austria, the Netherlands, Sweden). The AB-204 was built with a more powerful engine than the previous B/C version. It was equipped with part of the fuselage of the bigger UH-1 D Slick type. Despite its capability of carrying a vast assortment of armament, this chopper became mainly a supply and support aircraft. Originally, the twin-engine SH-3 Sea King was used primarily in the role of anti-submarine warfare (ASW) by the US Navy (USN). It was also the first amphibious helicopter in the world and it entered USN service in 1961. Various modifications occurred in its lifespan, with a total of 105 SH-3A and SH-3D craft being converted into the versatile SH-3G. The latter was a cargo, utility and transport helicopter used by the USN. In the 1990s the SH-3 Sea King was replaced by the SH-60 Seahawk in the USN. This 1/72 scale Dragon plastic model is well designed and cleverly engineered to induce maximum modeling enjoyment. The fuselage is correctly proportioned and it's furnished with a full level of detail both inside and outside. It has a new part to plug the gap where the sonar was originally located. The Bell OH-58 Kiowa, is not only one of the most famous helicopter in history but is also characterized by an extraordinary longevity and flexibility. The OH-58 has been in continuous use by the U.S. Army, with several versions, since 1969. Derived directly from 206 Jet Ranger model, OH-58 Kiowa was used to perform reconnaissance, observation and advanced tactical support duties. OH-58D series was the result of several developments such as the adoption of a more powerful engine, the introduction of the 4-blade rotor, and the use of MMS above it. The latest version, the OH-58D Kiowa Warrior, is primarily operated in an armed reconnaissance role in support of ground troops thanks to the adoption of two side pylons capable of carrying different combinations of weapons such as AGM-114 Hellfire missiles, Hydra rockets or air-to-air Stinger missiles.
