36,00 €H-21C Shawnee flying Banana 100% NEW MOULDS SUPER DECAL SHEET - PHOTO ETCHED PARTS - COLOURED INSTRUCTION SHEET The H-21 Shawnee is known for its nickname "flying banana" which derives from the particular upward angle of the aft fuselage. The fuselage designed, in this original way, has been developed to permit the adoption of the two powerful tandem rotors and the oversized propellers. Thanks to the two rotors and the strong aerodynamic structure, the H-21 became a real and reliable “workhorse” able to successfully perform the most demanding transport tasks in any kind of environments. Widely used by the United States Army since the first half of the 50s, it was also deployed in the Vietnamese operation theater for use in transporting troops and tactical supplies since 1961. To increase the defensive capability the H-21 was often armed of mobile machine guns to the side doors. It was gradually replaced by the more modern UH-1 and CH-47. Per saperne di più -

F4U - 5N CORSAIR - MODEL SET - The Corsair is one of the best known airplanes of World War Il which fought against the entire array of aircraft used by the Japanese Forces in the Pacific theatre. After the war the Corsairs were set aside, together with other propeller-driven planes, to expect demolition awaiting replacement by jet aircraft. In 1950, at the outbreak of the Korean conflict, more than one hundred units were re-activated to combat the onslaught of the North Korean Forces. Even if the OH-13 has not been the first operational halicopter, it has certainly become the best known choppen of the fifties and sixties world-wide. Oryginally used by the U.S. Army to evacuate during the Korean War, the Sioux was later used in various version for reconnaissance missions. At the begin of the Vietnam War a few dozen Sioux were used and during the midsixties the OH-13 was deployed for training use. In Europe it was built under license in Italy and Great Britain.
