ES-3A Shadow The ES-3A Shadow has been derived directly from the famous twin-engines anti-submarine Lockheed S-3 Viking. It was designed as a carrier-based, subsonic, all-weather, long-range, electronic reconnaissance aircraft with the specific purpose to replace the aging EA-3B Skywarrior starting from the beginning of '90s. Basically the ES-3A was developed on modified S-3A where an extensive set of electronic and modern sensors and communication tools replaced the submarine detection and maritime surveillance equipment. The new operating configuration has not changed the flight performance of Lockheed airframe. The ES-3A has in fact a good flight range and it is very reliable. The Corsair is one of the best known airplanes of World War Il which fought against the entire array of aircraft used by the Japanese Forces in the Pacific theatre. After the war the Corsairs were set aside, together with other propeller-driven planes, to expect demolition awaiting replacement by jet aircraft. In 1950, at the outbreak of the Korean conflict, more than one hundred units were re-activated to combat the onslaught of the North Korean Forces. This British aircraft, based on the de Havilland Venom NF.2 night-fighter, was a jet fighter capable of operating from aircraft carriers. To suit this role, it required modifications such as folding wings, a strengthened undercarriage, modified canopy to permit underwater ejection, and a tailhook. The Sea Venom operated as an interceptor with the Royal Navy’s Fleet Air Arm. The first version was designated FAW.20 (Fighter, All-Weather), but Cyber Hobby’s kit represents the subsequent production version known as FAW.21, which first flew in April 1954. It featured a Ghost 104 engine that produced 22.1kN of thrust, radar system derived from the American APS-57, plus a reshaped canopy that provided a clearer view. Production of the FAW.21 ceased in 1957. Sea Venoms participated in such conflicts as the Suez War of 1956 and Cyprus Emergency of 1958. This 1/72 scale kit is the fruit of brand new toolings. Naturally, it’s extremely well engineered to support convenient and easy assembly. This engineering excellence is made manifest in numerous parts produced with the aid of slide molds. Panel lines are sharply and accurately delineated using laser crafting, while the streamlined form of the fuselage and twin-boom tail is realistically captured in its entirety. Agusta Westland AW-101 TTI Italeri The Agusta Westland AW101 is a medium/heavy-lift helicopter for military applications but also marketed for civil use. The helicopter was developed as a joint venture between Westland Helicopters in the UK and Agusta in Italy (now Agusta Westland). The aircraft is manufactured at the Agusta Westland factories in Yeovil, England and Vergiate, Italy. In spring 1977, the UK Ministry of Defence issued a requirement for an anti-submarine warfare (ASW) helicopter to replace the Royal Navy's Westland Sea Kings.
