It was armed with two 30 mm. guns and, thanks to its 5 external hardpoints, able to carry 4.000 Kg. of payload such as bombs, missiles, and drop tanks. The Thunderbolt (also called Warthog) was practically built around its remarkable 30 mm gun GAU-8, which can perforate tank armour with its special high performance ammunition. The aircraft was widely used during the Gulf War, where it successfully destroyed a few hundred Iraqui vehicles with minimum losses despite the heavy enemy defense of conventional and missile fire power. This characteristic “inverted gullwing” aircraft became famous at the early stages of the war, when Germany had virtual air superiority. Later on the planes’s limits became obvious. The Stukas were then used as troop support aircraft on the Eastern front, where its robust fuselage proved to be quite adequate. Furthermore the “Ariete”, as the RE 2002 was called, had a good storage capacity, able to carry bombs as heavy as 500 kg. The squadrons equipped with this aircraft saw a great deal of action against the Allied fleet invading Sicily in 1943. The Hawker Hurricane has been the most widely used fighter by the British Royal Air Force at the beginning of World War II. The Hurricane was powered by a Rolls-Royce Merlin 12-cylinders, liquid-cooled, with more than 1,000 HP that could lead to a speed above 500 km/h. The eight 7.7 mm Browning machine guns, which equipped it , guaranteed a good firepower. Although it was slower and more antiquated, for aerodynamic design, then the famous "colleague" with whom it shared the operational engagement during the Battle of Britain, however, was more robust, cheaper and easier to maintain and repair. He has contributed significantly to the victory of the RAF during the Battle of Britain, but during the war, it has gradually given the role of front-line fighter to the more modern Spitfire. HARVARD Mk.IIA SUPER DECALS SHEET Harvard is the name assigned to the North American T-6 Texan aircraft utilised by the Air Force in the British Commonwealth. It was also produced under license in Canada. The Harvard was a low-wing single engine advanced trainer aircraft used to train pilots and make them ready for combat. Thanks to its Pratt & Whitney R-1340 Wasp 600 hp radial engine, it was able to reach the speed of 335 km / h. The project was developed in the mid-'30s and it became one of the most popular trainer aircraft in aviation history by contributing to the training of a large number of military pilots. Outside of the United States, the British RAF was the most prominent user. However, by the end of World War II, the Harvard had an impressive spread and was used by the air forces of several Countries including Canada, Italy, Belgium and Netherlands .
