43,00 €- Bonus four classic US Marine figures, Iwo Jima 1945 (4 figures set) The Pacific theater of operations was a bitter campaign for Allied forces as they pressed fanatical Japanese defenders back towards their homeland. By the end of WWII, the Pacific War had resulted in the deaths of some 6 million soldiers and 18 million civilians. The US Marine Corps was at the forefront of the conflict on numerous occasions, and their roll of honor includes bloody battles such as the invasions of Guadalcanal, Saipan, the Philippines, Iwo Jima and Okinawa. The important role played by the US Marines is commemorated in a 1/35 scale set from Orange Box. The set includes an LVT-4 and US Marine figures. The LVT-4, also referred to as the Water Buffalo, had a ramp at the rear to allow troops to disembark after the amphibious vehicle had swum ashore. With a total of 8,351 LVT-4 vehicles produced, it was the most common version of the LVT family. The Cyber-Hobby 1/35 scale plastic kit of the Water Buffalo has crisp detail, plus it’s easy to assemble for modelers of all skill levels. The inclusion of four classic US Marine figures from Dragon’s figure sets provides the potential for an instant Pacific War diorama. The figures are all in realistic action poses as they participate in a fierce amphibious assault on some island beach. SUPER DECALS SHEET The twin-engine high swept wing Douglas RB-66 Destroyer entered in service in the mid- 50s to equip the USAF photo-reconnaissance squadrons. Derived, as the Douglas B-66 bomber version, from the A-3 Skywarrior, it had adopted a lot of changes compared to the US Navy aircraft. Thanks to the two J71 turbojet engines, the Destroyer was able to reach a max speed of 940 Km/h and guarantee an operative range of 1,800 miles. The equipment for the reconnaissance were installed in the loading bombs bay. A lot of RB-66s had been used by the USAF Squadrons located in Great Britain, Germany and Japan during the escalation of the Cold Wars proving their effectiveness in the intelligence and recon duties.
