SUPER DECALS SHEET The multi-role combat aircraft Tornado was jointly developed and built by a multinational collaboration of Italian, German and British companies. After forty years from the set up of the development, the Tornado is, still today, an aircraft with a significant operational capability. The Tornado is a twin-engine, variable sweep wing able to perform well as a low-level supersonic strike aircraft and able to “follow” the ground profile. The most successful commercial version was the ground attack variant IDS (Interdictor and strike). SU - 27D Sea Flanker Together with the smaller Mig-29 the Sukhoy SU-27 is the most modern Soviet aircraft of the Nineties. Due to its features - speed, maneuvrability, electronic equipment and armament - this plane is on, the same level as Western airpianes. From the original Flanker-B version (which was introduced in 1989) further versions were developed such as the carrier variant, which is used for the new air-craft carriers of the Tbiisi class. Republic F - 84F Thunderstreak The first Republic F-84F Thunderstreaks began service in the United States Air Force around the middle of the 1950’s. Differently from the previous F-84 Thunderjet, it was characterised with a swept-wing and a powerful Wright J-65 engine which brought it to a maximum speed of over 1,100 Km/h, beyond the sound barrier. The F84F equipped the bomber formations of the newly founded NATO air forces during the first phase of the Cold War. It was used, among others, by Italy, France, West Germany, the Netherlands, Greece and Turkey. The F-84F Thunderstreak was armed with 6 12.7 mm machine guns and had a transport capacity, at the hooking points below the wings, of over 2,700 kg of combat payload or else supplementary fuel tanks to extend its range of action. In the Italian Military Air Force it was also used by the aerobatic team called the “Red Devils”, by the 6th brigade and by the “Thundering Jets” of the 5th air brigade. Per saperne di più -

15,00 €The North American B-25 Mitchell was probably one of the best medium bombers of World War II. The first flight of the twin-engine North American plane was done in 1939. Powered by two 1750 HP Wright R-2600 Cyclone engines, the B-25 was characterized by an extraordinary operational flexibility. It took its nickname in honor of General Billy Mitchell considered, in effect, the father and the founder of United States Air Force. From the first versions, used for the main task of medium bomber in level flight, were progressively develop and implement further variations. In particular, following the specific need for a ground attack and close support aircraft, was made the B-25G. It was equipped with a closed nose, instead of the transparent one, with two .50 machine-guns and an heavy 75mm cannon inside which made it a real "piece of flying artillery”. Per saperne di più
