This meant the nation needed more effective high-altitude interceptor aircraft to fight off the heavy bombers. One solution was the Focke-Wulf Ta152, a high-altitude interceptor fighter derived from the Fw190. There were three different versions planned, with the Ta152C designed for lower-altitude operations and ground attack. Thus it had a different engine and smaller wings than the Ta152H and Ta152E. Interestingly, the name was changed from Fw to Ta to reflect the important influence paid by designer Kurt Tank. The first Ta152H entered service in January 1945, and with only a little over 40 production aircraft, it had minimal impact on the result of WWII. Because of the rush to get the aircraft into production, insufficient time was allotted to its development, leading to teething problems. Dragon has produced a new 1/48 scale kit of the Ta152. This particular kit is of the Ta152C-0, which was a pre-production aircraft. Although only one prototype was built, this kit from Dragon means it is now available to all modelers. The kit includes brand new wings, plus a new engine and radiator cowling. These new parts, as well as highly detailed elements for the rest of the aircraft, are accurately detailed and dimensionally correct. The plastic parts are sharply molded, and there are options for showing such parts as the cowling flaps or cockpit open or closed. Two frets of photo-etched parts are also offered to upgrade detail. This is an exciting kit of a novel aircraft, and for modelers wanting a late-war interceptor, this Ta152C-0 from Dragon is the answer. Per saperne di più

To respond to modelers’ requests for more, Cyber-Hobby is following up with another inspirational kit of this famous British fighter. The Meteor earned its place in history by being the first British and Allied operational jet fighter. It entered the ranks of the RAF in July 1944, and it served for a further ten years as Britain’s primary frontline fighter aircraft. The Meteor F.1, the subject of this kit, was the original production variant, and it began equipping No.616 Squadron of the RAF in June 1944. The squadron’s first mission was shooting down German V-1 flying bombs over England, with the aircraft forbidden from flying over German territory in case the jet engine technology fell into enemy hands. This initial production version of the Meteor was powered to a top speed of 670km/h by Whittle W.2 jet engines. The new Cyber-Hobby plastic kit of this initial Meteor F.1 variant comes in 1/72 scale. The aircraft is accurately shaped thanks to the use of the latest high-tech slide molds. The fuselage is well detailed with panel lines, and particularly eye-catching are the new parts that create the detailed Whittle jet engines. The exquisite twin engines are also installed upon brand new wings. Of course, this kit features a brand new cockpit canopy with the accurate shape. With this new transparent part, modelers will be able to view all the intricate detail inside the cockpit. This is a superb Cyber-Hobby kit, and it is the perfect follow-on to the Meteor released earlier. Per saperne di più

Features: - Newly designed SB2C-4 Helldiver authentically presented - Folding-wing mechanism rendered w/fine detail - Wings can be assembled extended/folded - Delicate propeller reproduced - Realistic engine exhibits delicate detail - Intricate arrester hook molded on SB2C-4 - Detailed cockpit canopy made from crystal-clear parts - Cockpit interior details including pilot's seat and control panel - Seats can be folded up/down - Delicate details molded on wings - Landing gear realistically produced - Authentic-looking MGs - Detailed struts installed inside landing-gear compartment - Cockpit interior forms separate drop-in assembly - Two 5,000lb bombs included Cyber-Hobby has added an exciting 1/72 scale model kit to its Golden Wings series. The new item depicts a Curtiss SB2C Helldiver, a carrier-based dive-bomber widely used by the US Navy (USN) during WWII. The twin-seat SB2C was roundly criticized for its handling characteristics, range and reliability, but nevertheless it achieved good results in combat after improvements were made during the course of production. It participated in such battles as Rabaul, the Marianas, the Philippines, Taiwan, Iwo Jima, the Ryuku Islands and Okinawa. One of its strengths was the ability to carry a significant amount of munitions, plus it featured an internal bomb bay. Some 7,140 Helldivers were manufactured, but the variant portrayed in this kit is the SB2C-4, numerically the most common type. Introduced in mid-1944, the SB2C-4 incorporated perforated dive flaps and wing racks for eight 5-inch rockets or 1,000lb bombs. More than 2,000 SB2C-4 Helldivers were produced by Curtiss, and it was more successful than earlier variants. This is in fact the very first 1/72 scale item in Cyber-Hobby’s refined Wing-Tech series, and it broadens the scope of successful 1/32 and 1/48 items already available. As such, the SB2C-4 employs high-tech innovations and widely uses slide molds. This enables excellent levels of detail and easy construction. Panel lines are sharply etched into the plastic components. Furthermore, as a carrier-based aircraft, modelers can choose to show the wings folded or extended according to their preference, plus the landing gear can be displayed either lowered or raised. The cockpit is full of detail as well, all of which can be shown to fullest extent if the canopy is left open. The Helldiver was the last dive-bomber operated by the USN, but it was also the most widely produced in history. Now, thanks to Cyber-Hobby, modelers can get a slice of Pacific war action! Special Features: -Wire cutter reproduced by photo-etched parts to recreate scale thickness -Cockpit canopy made from clear plastic -Propellers finely reproduced -Landing gear has crisp detail -Photo-etched parts to upgrade level of detail -Markings by Cartograf decals About the Ju88A-6 One of the most versatile designs of WWII, the Ju88 was a twin-engine multi-role aircraft flown by the Luftwaffe. A total of approximately 15,000 of this vital aircraft were manufactured. One of the more novel versions was the Ju88A-6, which was basically a Ju88A-5 fitted with a balloon cutting device. It was intended to clear the way for a bomber force by cutting the tether cables of barrage balloons. The specific equipment involved a front-mounted fender terminating at the wingtips, with a cable-cutting device installed at each end. The apparatus weighed a total of 380kg, requiring a further 60kg counterweight to be fitted in the tail. Dragon has launched an impressive scale model of this particular aircraft. It is based on Dragon’s highly successful Ju88 1/48 series of kits, so quality and accuracy are ensured. The new balloon cutting device has been reproduced in photo-etched parts so that the thin frame is truly produced to scale and is accurately proportioned. Not only does it feature the fender and cutting devices, but a whole range of other photo-etched components provide upgraded detail. Some of these have even been pre-painted for the added convenience of modelers. On the original aircraft, the extra weight and drag caused the Ju88A-6 to be slow and sluggish, thus making it an easy target. They were soon withdrawn and converted back to standard bombers. This Dragon model is not such a party-pooper, however, for this accurate and spectacularly detailed model is ready to pop balloons! Per saperne di più

The Helldiver was a carrier-based dive-bomber widely used by the US Navy (USN) during WWII. The twin-seat SB2C was roundly criticized for its handling characteristics, range and reliability, but nevertheless it achieved good results in combat after improvements were made during the course of production. It was in the thick of such battles as Rabaul, the Marianas, the Philippines, Taiwan, Iwo Jima, the Ryuku Islands and Okinawa. One of its strengths was the ability to carry a significant amount of munitions, plus it had an internal bomb bay. Some 7,140 Helldivers were manufactured in total. However, Cyber-Hobby is now pleased to be offering a slightly earlier variant of the Helldiver, an SB2C-3. To improve performance, this type had received a 1,900hp R-2600-20 engine and a four-bladed propeller. Some 1,112 SB2C-3 Helldivers were produced by Curtiss. Of course, this is just the second 1/72 scale kit in Cyber-Hobby's refined Wing-Tech series. The SB2C-3 employs high-tech innovations and widely uses slide molds to enable excellent levels of detail and easy construction. Panel lines are sharply etched into the plastic, and a bomb payload is on offer too. Furthermore, as a carrier-based aircraft, modelers can choose to show the wings folded or extended according to their preference, plus the landing gear can be displayed either lowered or raised. Brand new dive flaps were created in photo-etched metal to achieve the correct scale thickness. The cockpit is fully detailed as well. The Helldiver was the last dive-bomber operated by the USN and now, thanks to Cyber-Hobby, modelers can get a slice of Pacific war action! Per saperne di più
  10. DH Vampire FB.5

This British aircraft was the RAF’s second ever jet fighter (the first being the Gloster Meteor). Although it arrived too late to see WWII combat, it served in frontline squadrons of the Royal Air Force (RAF) until 1953 and as a training platform until 1966. Some 3,268 Vampires were built and they were used by 31 air forces. The most numerically common single-seat variant was the FB.5, with the type built for the UK, South Africa and Venezuela. The FB.5 featured a Goblin II turbojet engine with armored protection. In addition, the wings were shortened by 30cm and the undercarriage was given a longer stroke to permit greater takeoff weights and more clearance for under-wing munitions. At its peak, the RAF flew 19 squadrons of FB.5s in Europe, the Middle East and Far East. It participated in the Malayan Emergency, for example. This 1/72 scale kit is the fruit of brand new toolings. Naturally, it’s extremely well engineered to support convenient and easy assembly. This engineering excellence is made manifest in numerous parts produced with the aid of slide molds and complete CAD design from start to finish. Panel lines are sharply and accurately delineated using laser crafting, while the streamlined form of the fuselage and twin-boom tail is realistically captured. Coming after Cyber-Hobby’s earlier releases of the Meteor, Sea Vixen and Sea Venom, this new kit adds to the historic British family! Indeed, modelers will now be able to display a complete lineup of these important post-WWII British fighters. Per saperne di più
