SUPER DECALS SHEET The twin-engine high swept wing Douglas RB-66 Destroyer entered in service in the mid- 50s to equip the USAF photo-reconnaissance squadrons. Derived, as the Douglas B-66 bomber version, from the A-3 Skywarrior, it had adopted a lot of changes compared to the US Navy aircraft. Thanks to the two J71 turbojet engines, the Destroyer was able to reach a max speed of 940 Km/h and guarantee an operative range of 1,800 miles. The equipment for the reconnaissance were installed in the loading bombs bay. A lot of RB-66s had been used by the USAF Squadrons located in Great Britain, Germany and Japan during the escalation of the Cold Wars proving their effectiveness in the intelligence and recon duties. To respond to modelers’ requests for more, Cyber-Hobby is following up with another inspirational kit of this famous British fighter. The Meteor earned its place in history by being the first British and Allied operational jet fighter. It entered the ranks of the RAF in July 1944, and it served for a further ten years as Britain’s primary frontline fighter aircraft. The Meteor F.1, the subject of this kit, was the original production variant, and it began equipping No.616 Squadron of the RAF in June 1944. The squadron’s first mission was shooting down German V-1 flying bombs over England, with the aircraft forbidden from flying over German territory in case the jet engine technology fell into enemy hands. This initial production version of the Meteor was powered to a top speed of 670km/h by Whittle W.2 jet engines. The new Cyber-Hobby plastic kit of this initial Meteor F.1 variant comes in 1/72 scale. The aircraft is accurately shaped thanks to the use of the latest high-tech slide molds. The fuselage is well detailed with panel lines, and particularly eye-catching are the new parts that create the detailed Whittle jet engines. The exquisite twin engines are also installed upon brand new wings. Of course, this kit features a brand new cockpit canopy with the accurate shape. With this new transparent part, modelers will be able to view all the intricate detail inside the cockpit. This is a superb Cyber-Hobby kit, and it is the perfect follow-on to the Meteor released earlier. Per saperne di più

This British aircraft was the RAF’s second ever jet fighter (the first being the Gloster Meteor). Although it arrived too late to see WWII combat, it served in frontline squadrons of the Royal Air Force (RAF) until 1953 and as a training platform until 1966. Some 3,268 Vampires were built and they were used by 31 air forces. The most numerically common single-seat variant was the FB.5, with the type built for the UK, South Africa and Venezuela. The FB.5 featured a Goblin II turbojet engine with armored protection. In addition, the wings were shortened by 30cm and the undercarriage was given a longer stroke to permit greater takeoff weights and more clearance for under-wing munitions. At its peak, the RAF flew 19 squadrons of FB.5s in Europe, the Middle East and Far East. It participated in the Malayan Emergency, for example. This 1/72 scale kit is the fruit of brand new toolings. Naturally, it’s extremely well engineered to support convenient and easy assembly. This engineering excellence is made manifest in numerous parts produced with the aid of slide molds and complete CAD design from start to finish. Panel lines are sharply and accurately delineated using laser crafting, while the streamlined form of the fuselage and twin-boom tail is realistically captured. Coming after Cyber-Hobby’s earlier releases of the Meteor, Sea Vixen and Sea Venom, this new kit adds to the historic British family! Indeed, modelers will now be able to display a complete lineup of these important post-WWII British fighters. Per saperne di più
