The Helldiver was a carrier-based dive-bomber widely used by the US Navy (USN) during WWII. The twin-seat SB2C was roundly criticized for its handling characteristics, range and reliability, but nevertheless it achieved good results in combat after improvements were made during the course of production. It was in the thick of such battles as Rabaul, the Marianas, the Philippines, Taiwan, Iwo Jima, the Ryuku Islands and Okinawa. One of its strengths was the ability to carry a significant amount of munitions, plus it had an internal bomb bay. Some 7,140 Helldivers were manufactured in total. However, Cyber-Hobby is now pleased to be offering a slightly earlier variant of the Helldiver, an SB2C-3. To improve performance, this type had received a 1,900hp R-2600-20 engine and a four-bladed propeller. Some 1,112 SB2C-3 Helldivers were produced by Curtiss. Of course, this is just the second 1/72 scale kit in Cyber-Hobby's refined Wing-Tech series. The SB2C-3 employs high-tech innovations and widely uses slide molds to enable excellent levels of detail and easy construction. Panel lines are sharply etched into the plastic, and a bomb payload is on offer too. Furthermore, as a carrier-based aircraft, modelers can choose to show the wings folded or extended according to their preference, plus the landing gear can be displayed either lowered or raised. Brand new dive flaps were created in photo-etched metal to achieve the correct scale thickness. The cockpit is fully detailed as well. The Helldiver was the last dive-bomber operated by the USN and now, thanks to Cyber-Hobby, modelers can get a slice of Pacific war action! Per saperne di più

The Battle of Midway (4-7 June 1942) was the defining naval engagement of the Pacific Campaign during WWII. It occurred just six months after Japan’s surprise attack on Pearl Harbor and resulted in a decisive victory for the US Navy (USN). The battle resulted in the loss of four Japanese aircraft carriers, a heavy cruiser, 248 carrier-borne aircraft and 3,057 sailors, a costly blow the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) and its shipbuilding industry couldn’t recover from. One historian even called it “the most stunning and decisive blow in the history of naval warfare.” The IJN attacked Midway Atoll and sought to sweep the USN into oblivion via an ambush. However, the US had been able to break Japanese codes and so the USA sprung its own trap on the Japanese! Cyber-Hobby is proud to announce the release of a 1/72 scale kit of a Japanese Aichi D3A dive-bomber that took part in this fierce battle. Cyber-Hobby has done a sterling job on this 1/72 dive-bomber kit. This time it comes with brand new Cartograf decals that offer a splendid selection of markings suitable for aircraft participating in the Battle of Midway. It uses the same toolings that were created using highly advanced CAD techniques, and the result is an amazingly detailed aircraft. The engine and cockpit are both fully represented. Due to its primary role as a dive-bomber, the model sensibly comes with a payload of a 250kg bomb. And as a carrier-borne aircraft, its 14.37m-wide wings could be folded up to save space. This feature too is carried over into the model; builders can select whether they want the plane to have folded or extended wings. There are no halfway measures when it comes to the detail exhibited on this Midway Aicha Type 99 model! Per saperne di più

SUPER DECALS SHEET The twin-engine high swept wing Douglas RB-66 Destroyer entered in service in the mid- 50s to equip the USAF photo-reconnaissance squadrons. Derived, as the Douglas B-66 bomber version, from the A-3 Skywarrior, it had adopted a lot of changes compared to the US Navy aircraft. Thanks to the two J71 turbojet engines, the Destroyer was able to reach a max speed of 940 Km/h and guarantee an operative range of 1,800 miles. The equipment for the reconnaissance were installed in the loading bombs bay. A lot of RB-66s had been used by the USAF Squadrons located in Great Britain, Germany and Japan during the escalation of the Cold Wars proving their effectiveness in the intelligence and recon duties. 10. SH-3G Sea King, USN Utility Transporter

Features: SH-3G Sea King USN Transporter rendered with stunning detail Newly reproduced sonobuoy cover Fitted door for sonobouy on belly of Sea King fuselage Wind wipers molded on cockpit Cockpit glazing made from crystal-clear parts 5-blades tail rotor realistically produced Detailed landing gear and buoyancy sponsons Authentic rotor w/intricate detail Slightly curved rotor blades reproduced One-piece fuselage reproduced w/intricate details Strengthened landing gear realistically portrayed Realistic steps included Realistic pilots' seats included The subject of Dragon's latest 1/72 scale plastic kit is a delightful model of the American-designed Sikorsky SH-3G Sea King helicopter. Originally, the twin-engine SH-3 Sea King was used primarily in the role of anti-submarine warfare (ASW) by the US Navy (USN). It was also the first amphibious helicopter in the world and it entered USN service in 1961. Various modifications occurred in its lifespan, with a total of 105 SH-3A and SH-3D craft being converted into the versatile SH-3G. The latter was a cargo, utility and transport helicopter used by the USN. In the 1990s the SH-3 Sea King was replaced by the SH-60 Seahawk in the USN. This 1/72 scale Dragon plastic model is well designed and cleverly engineered to induce maximum modeling enjoyment. The fuselage is correctly proportioned and it's furnished with a full level of detail both inside and outside. It has a new part to plug the gap where the sonar was originally located. The foldable rotor blades are made to true scale thickness too. With appropriate Cartograf decal markings for several USN squadrons available, this SH-3G is ready to lift off in service of the navy!
